Broncos are going to get killed in the SB

I REALLY hope you are right, but most of us said Denver had no chance to win the AFC Championship Game either.

The Panthers do look scary good though.

Well the whole premise of people thinking denver didn't have a chance was the Pats OL was going to block halfway decent. If the OL played even slightly better than they did yesterday Pats win the game by 10.

Interesting take from a Panthers fan:

No need to sandbag it. Denver will be the 3rd best team we've played... this postseason.

We aren't playing in mile high, where they probably would have lost to the Steelers if Antonio Brown was healthy, and the Patriots if their kicker hadn't missed an XP.

This isn't the 1985 bears defense we're playing. Nor the 2000 ravens, or the 2013 legion of boom. Based on this one game, the media is acting like Von Miller is Lawrence Taylor out there. Chiefs put 29 on this team. Healthy steelers put up 34. Even manziel's browns put up 23.

Patriots had NO offensive line game yesterday. NONE. No running game either. And still were an XP away on the road. Our offensive line is the best in the league or close to it.

That doesn't even mention how offensively inept they are. Peyton could be the worst QB we've played all year. We can just line fuging everybody in the box and laugh as he tries to make long throws against our ball hawking D. You thought Palmer was erratic? The QBs we've let back into games this year have been the studs in the league. We've destroyed the statues in every game.

Maybe they keep it close in the first half with that D, but once we get a 1-2 score lead, it's over. Peyton cannot dig them out of a hole with that arm.

I Feel Our Offense is Better than Denver's Defense.....

Can't argue with any of that. If Ghost makes that PAT, or even if we take the 3 points in the 4th quarter, we very well could be on our way to SB50.

Carolina would have been a tough match up for either AFC team.

Yeah, I can not foresee the Broncos hanging with the Panthers in the Super Bowl. It may be close early but the flood gates will be released and the Panthers will end up winning by 7-10 points.

If history repeats itself, Denver will get obliterated by the Panthers in SB50, and NE wins a close one against the Panthers in SB51. ;)

The strength of the Broncos D -- well, their biggest strength, at least - is a dominant pass rush, Ware and Miller being uber-athletic on the edges and Wolfe/Jackson getting push up the middle. I think Cam and that offense is the perfect neutralizing factor, because they can do so much from any formation. Swing Ginn across the line, at the snap does he get the ball, does Stewart get a handoff, does Cam still have it, and where is he looking with the ball?

A more reactionary defense might be able to contain them; I think the Pats D with Hightower and Collins and Ninko might have marginal success. But I think the Broncos aggressive style will allow Carolina to capitalize on things moreso than other teams would. And the Broncos offense...I just don't see them scoring against the defense, even quality offenses have struggled and 'game manager' Manning doesn't run a quality offense right now.

I'm not expecting a blowout, but I think the Panthers win rather comfortably, 10+ points.

Can the Panthers D do what the Pats D did yesterday? Yes

Can the Panthers O exceed what the Pats O did yesterday? Yes

Looks like a Panthers win to me.

The only question in my mind is if Denver can keep it close so Manning doesn't have to be heaving deep balls. Once Manning must go deep it's going to turn into a rout.

So all patsfans calling for a blowout carolina win, of course, eh? I'm saying denver's defense will shut down Carolina's running game and make them one dimensional. After yesterday's defensive performance I am sure that Son of Bum will dial up something to neuter the Carolina offense and hold them to 17-23 points.
It will become a field position game and Denver will win.

I think they lose, but their D will keep it close IMO

You expect Denver's defense to shut down a running game that has not been shut down all year? Have you conveniently forgot what the running game did to the number one rush defense (Seattle)?

How will they contain Newton?

Can they contain Olsen, after Gronk went bonkers on them yesterday?

The Denver pass rush will not have the luxury of jumping the snap count without the benefit of home field, let alone against one of the best offensive lines in the league.

it would be so hilarious for the broncos to get blown out in the SB again. just for the sheer fact that elway brought in manning to try to have an ending to his career like he did, only to end up getting blown out in SBs like he did.

Even though Arizona is the more likable NFC team (hard not to be able to root for Fitz), but thank goodness they didn't make it. Palmer would have been overwhelmed by Denver's defense.

There is absolutely no chance in hell Denver is going to beat Carolina baring something catastrophic happening.

Thomas Davis broke his arm.

That's pretty catastrophic.

Carolina has the advantage at every position except WR. I don't see the Broncos scoring much and I certainly don't see them getting as much pressure on Cam as they did Brady. Carolina wins 27 - 13

LOL, reading through this thread I'm just not seeing a lot of logic for Denver winning except "Well, we thought they wouldn't win yesterday."

Newsflash, we kick one of two fourth down FG opportunities, we DO win. Our kicker makes an extra point, its tied.

Denver is going to be killed.

In addition, there was a lot more to be concerned about yesterday. Maninly HF in Denver and their pass rush destroying our questionable OL with a QB who isn't very mobile. Those concerns aren't there in this game.

I have to say, most of the time, Cam Newton annoys me but yesterday it was hard not to see the positive infectious joy he was playing with. At one point he even skipped to the line of scrimmage. The Panthers play these huge games like they are nothing but just a whole lot of fun. Reminds me of the 2013 Seahawks.

The grapes are so sour in this thread. As most Super Bowls, the game will most likely be close and there is very little chance that the best defense in football is getting blown out. Could happen, sure, but predicting it makes as much sense as you guys predicting an easy victory at a place where you were 1-5 in your previous six games and where you already lost once this season. The Panthers are probably the favorites but the Broncos have the much better, more versatile defense between the two teams. That alone could go a long way.

Comparing their defenses makes no sense and is completely irrelevant. The two units will never see the field against one another.

With even a middle of the pack Oline, we win that game on the road yesterday. Instead, the Oline played like it was in contention for worst Oline of all time. Even then, the game was still winnable had Ghost not missed the XP or if we take the FG instead of going for it on the 4th down the first time.

Carolina's Oline is among the best in the league, and they have a run game. Denver won't be able to harass Cam like they did Brady.

Defensively, we shut them down in the second half. Carolina's defense has been playing better than ours, and it would take a miracle for Denver to put up more than 14 points.

Neither AFC team would have fared well vs Carolina.
