It was not just the scheme it was the athletes running it.

Can anyone explain to me why Kevin Snyder, an undrafted rookie who's been on the team for a week, was active over Offensive Line depth in either Waddle or Jackson?

This to me was huge, especially when it became apparent Canon was useless against Miller and there was no one to sub him out for.....

Health?

We lost this game when we lost home field advantage.

Broncos edge rushers had half a step on our tackles all night because of crowd noise. Even Vollmer struggled mightily.

This season will go down as one big missed opportunity.

Hindsight 20/20 ALWAYS makes sense...

I don't know if this is correct at all, but my gut reaction:

White vs. Dion was the difference between SB champs and not :(
Incorrect. The o-line was the biggest glaring problem all season long.

Had they gone for a FG and missed, everyone would have crucified BB for not going for it on 4th down. Everyone's is an Einstein in hindsight.

I'm sure many will disagree, but I didn't feel too hot about our chances with Carolina. They seem to have a very well balanced team and a tough defense, as well.

This will be a matter of personal preference, but I'd prefer to lose now if it meant that I don't have to suffer through another SB loss. Those are tough.

It amazes me that some fans overlook fundamental weaknesses and try to boil the loss down to 1 play or player
If ghost doesn't miss the extra point
If they would have kicked the FG
If Tommy didn't throw 2 int.
If the o-line could block for 3 seconds
They all contribute to the loss

Carolina does look tough but we would have had a chance on a neutral field.

I just didn't think we'd beat the Broncos all week. Our OL and the fact that we were going over there in that crowd noise.

I think that even being able to win it (or go to OT) in the last trench was amazing on our part, after such a horrific game. We'll be back next year, hopefully stronger and healthier.

XP misses are rare, **** happens.
They had to go for it on 4th down. You can't rely on your D to bail you out time and time again.
Tommy threw 2 picks against seattle, yet we won. It didn't help but for me it wasn't a major issue.
Oline is a much bigger issue, but I'm reluctant to put this all on them - we should've adjusted.

There are many, many things about the loss that bother me, but chief among them are:

- Broncos talked **** all week, disrespecting Brady by calling him a crybaby, and then they get away with it. Reminds me of the 2010 Jets, talking all kinds of **** and then getting away with it.

- Roger Goodell wins because he doesn't have to give the Lombardi trophy to the team he screwed over by taking away their draft picks in a fraudulent, made-up scandal.

- The history books will show that Manning beat Brady head-to-head 3-2 in the playoffs, when it really should have been more like 4-1 in favor of Brady. Also shows they just can't win at Mile High. Brady is still the GOAT but I'm annoyed that there's more ammo given for the opposition.

Thought the morning after I would be over it but I'm still pissed off. It's always the teams I despise that eliminate the Patriots. I would have been less bothered if it had been to the Chiefs last week. I know this Patriots team was flawed but the Broncos are incredibly flawed on offense and yet they're one win away from giving a 67.9 QB rating quarterback a ring. It sickens me.

The only thing that gives me solace is that this result didn't betray my instincts. This felt like a special season until Dion Lewis went down. Then I knew we were in trouble. And then when that debacle in Denver happened in the regular season, I just knew that was going to cost them everything, and eventually it did.

For those of you saying that Amendola didn't make the catch where Kubiak challenged, here you go..
At the 2 second mark, he gets control, then his right knee hits the ground while in the grasp of the defender, Webster. The ball doesn't come out until after Webster whips Amendola over. By rule, that's a catch.. What happens AFTER the knee is down doesn't matter.

(1) I dispute he had control long enough for it to be a catch in any event.
(2) Even if he did have enough control for it to potentially be a catch (which I disagree he had), becuse he was taken to the ground the special "you have to control the ball all the way to and after hitting the ground" rule applies. His knee hitting the ground doesn't negate that requirement.

I feel like some of us (myself included) were lulled into a false sense of security with the offensive line based on how much more improved they seemingly were vs. KC at Gillette.

Unfortunately there is a HUGE difference between playing at home vs. a pass rush with their two best rushers injured, and on the road vs. a healthy pass rush that can go 7 or 8 deep.

Lost in the 2pt conv play was Amendola's hustle. He chased Roby and teared the ball out and seemed to hurt his hand in the process. Anyone know if he's ok?

Incorrect. The o-line is the reason we lost.

The O-Line should be buying TB dinners for a whole season!

And it's a lucky thing that TB- who is quite tough -didn't get seriously injured.
