Vollmer wasn't good. The o line wasn't good this year at all. They masked it well earlier. But they couldn't block for more than 2 seconds all season long. And the run blocking has been putrid. Lewis made it look decent with the numbers he was putting up, but it was mostly him making people miss.

This is as dumb a question as the "would you trade Solder?" thread last year. With cap increases etc there's plenty of room to keep the defense together.

You don't get rid of key pieces because of a "just in case" scenario which is unlikely to happen.

I think he is looking at their ages and current cap hits. Both are on the books for around $6-$7M next year and are in their 30s. They'll both need to restructure if they want to return. I hope they do but we will have to wait and see.

Chandler Jones is pretty damn mediocre imo. Not even sure how he got 12 sacks. Most of the time it's like he's not even on the field.

Did we have 2 other elite offensive linemen entering the same year as Solder? It's not a dumb question. I don't have a halo over my head but any player that was getting high the week of a playoff game is not someone I am against trading.

Danny is a goner unless he restructures. LaFell may or may not be gone too. Vollmer is a good player but not good enough for what he's making at his age. So I see the sense in it all.

I would trade Jones for a second round pick, maybe a high third. They have the depth to cover for his loss. Could use the assets to perhaps draft another tackle or two.

That was a good play...

But where was he today vs a Denver make shift Oline? That line is just as bad as ours. Invincible. Collins took advantage of it, Miller did his part for his team.

This was a game Jones should have made an impact..He didn't.

I think Easley could play RDE and not get as beat up as being an undersized DT. I also think Hightower could play DE effectively in passing situations.

I like Jones but he seems like the one we could most easily replace, it might make sense to recoup some value while we can.

Collins is not a FA until 2017 and Butler is a RFA in 2017 i cant see Brady playing at 41 years old its sad to say but next season may be Brady's last i would not be looking to blow up a defense that won a SB just last year for no reason at all

If it meant keeping HT and Collins I'd get rid of Chandler Jones in a heartbeat

Vollmer is one of the best RT's in the league and Amendola can be retained pretty cheap. Im all for getting rid of LaFell
