What makes me mad about this:

Do yourself a favor. Don't go to NFL.com or watch NFLN or ESPN. I know I won't be going near any of them so I won't know whatever asinine garbage they will be spewing and will be much happier.

This.. Last year was painful to watch in the two weeks leading upto the game, the specials that the NFLN did at the stadium all week and the clear bias towards Seattle was nauseating. I will switch off anything NFL until when the kickoff happens in two weeks.

And in two weeks we get to watch Manning s**t the bed.

...isn't that why the debate is revived? Because TB12 "s**t the bed" today? We should have beaten the Broncos and this debate would have been squashed...forgotten as Brady chases#5 and Manning disappears. But instead, the exact opposite happened. Brady throw 3 interceptions and looked confused, frustrated, and afraid for his life at times.

I hate having to deal with all the haters (those of us who don't live in NE are surrounded by haters)...but now I will just smile and say, "whatever. We'll be back next year."

I hate the feeling of knowing we could have won with just one or two more plays in our favor. Id rather get blown out than have this feeling, it sucks. That's sports tho, what can ya do except wait until next year...

Carolina was going to absolutely destroy whichever team came out of the AFC. I'd rather the pats lose in the AFC game then go through another SB loss.

********

we never get destroyed in the SB with BB. don't think we'd win though...panthers line would rape us all over the field

Most people on PatsFans said there was no way the Pats would lose today too....
Exactly, as long as you can play defense, you will have a chance to win. And Denver has a defense.

Looking back on the game...those one or 2 plays did not come on defense.
Obviously the PAT...but that is just overlooking the bigger issue of us being outplayed by their D.
I definitely am stuck on the 4th down failures (wishing we'd have kicked for 3-6 points).
I also feel either of the 2 picks TB12 had swung the game and momentum away from us.

When I was a teenager, I remember watching one of those Super Bowls dominated by the NFC team, just like every year in those days.

One of the commentators was Merlin Olsen. He said something like this, which I can't quote directly:

"When you lose in the Super Bowl, you're the biggest losers in the world. It's not right, and it's not fair. It takes so much to get to this game. But when you lose on this stage, you're the biggest losers in the world."

I was shocked to hear that, and it's stayed with me, because it's true.

I don't wish Mr. Manning ill, but there will be a huge difference between Brady's experience in last year's Super Bowl, and Manning's experience in this one.

This is the reason why I made a thread last week and said the same thing that this game is the most pivotal game for both QBs. Most posters here disagreed to this. If Brady had won it would have ended any conversations about the GOAT. Now these conversations will pop up again as Brady is 1-3 in AFC championship games against Manning and Manning could become the first QB to win the SB with 2 different teams.

Carolina's Offensive line will be at least average. That will work strongly in their favor.

A poll on NFL.com asks "does this win make the conversation of who's better between Brady and Manning a conversation again?"

It doesn't matter that Manning is the weakest link on this team, and Brady was running for his life the whole game. This now gives the Mediots an opportunity to spew all this out because of the record being 3-2 in the playoffs in favor of Manning.
This is exactly I was expecting. And expect this narrative to be blown up for the next 2 weeks . The media wants to crown him for the last 15 yrs and if he wins, they will constantly remind Brady's record in post season vs manning.

How many people would be saying this if the pats won? Id love to see how many predictions would be the panthers blowing us out. *Hint, not many if any* Id rather the pats make the SB and give themselves a chance. As long as you're in that game you got a shot to make things happen. Can't win if you're at home watching the game on tv.

Carolina just decimated two teams with better offenses than the broncos and pretty good defenses...seahwaks and cardinals.

Broncos are going to get annihilated

Manning was a great QB in his day. Brady is obviosuly far superior now. But lets not forget that Manning was so good that BB was basically terrified of him, managing games completely differently than against every other QB. History will favor Brady bc the numbers will be similar but Brady will have the rings. As others have said, the rings are team accomplishments, and may not be the best indicator of who is better. Its a fun debate.

Perfectly said!

When I was younger I used to watch ESPN religiously, but I slowly realized that it's all completely worthless. These are media outlets. They care more about sensationalizing stories than they do about reporting sports news. Remember, these are businesses that are trying to make as much money as they can, and they do so by exploiting people and getting them riled up.

ESPN is especially bad. Anymore, they are downright egregiously awful. I mean, look at the premier personalities on that network. It's guys like Skip Bayless, Stephen A. Smith, etc. Those guys are complete hacks. The shows are absolutely unwatchable because it's so blatantly clear that these "reporters" are more like actors that are playing characters, with the sole intention of generating controversy. Why people complain about them anymore is beyond me, their facade is so thin and transparent that it's totally obvious they are just real life trolls.
