What really hurts though about this loss is that people can say that Manning is 3-2 in the playoffs against Brady.
That sucks but 4-1 is the more important comparison

As I noticed in real time too during the game, Brady has a wide open field of vision to throw a dart to just inside the right pylon as White meets the ball with speed faster than anyone around him. All he has to do is catch the ball and lean forward.
Look, I can forgive not throwing to him on that one play -- lots of mayhem going on. But that we didn't exploit the White vs ??? matchup is just F'n bad football. Denver frequently a point of emphasis on Jules and Gronk. DA and JoJo/Martin out there too. They had no one of equivalent speed and side to side ability to put on White. Yet for some inexplicable reason we didn't attempt to exploit that until desperation time. Damn, to not exploit a lopsided matchup is just plain and simple bad football. White was our most slippery evasive guy on O. Why would we not design a few plays to get him the ball in some open space to see what his speed and evasiveness could do??? I just don't get it....
The reluctance to go to White until near the end of the game seemed to happen a lot down the stretch this year. I don't get it either.

Having a vertical threat wouldn't have really helped out considering Tom would have had to hold the ball for more than 2 seconds.

Agreed. A vertical threat meant little tonight due to un-serious noncompetitive OL play. Actually White was a good vertical threat tonight. He could eat up his coverage. Unfortunately they went to that a couple times only when it was closing in on desperation time.
They did rob us of a blatant PI on White down the field but I'm not too upset about it. The refs let them play and except for that silly PI in the beginning, the game was a free for all on coverage. The guy who couldn't stay with White was mauling him, stretching his jersey, holding him. But as long as they let it go on both sides I'm good -- and for the most part they did.

Watching the replay of the 2-pt try, should Brady have gone to White instead of Edelman?

was white the one to the right with 2 guys near him? I think Gronk was in the back of the endzone. I think there was a play to be had with either two.

You know what pisses me off. I just remembered the thing about the surface tablets in the first quarter. If that would have happened to Denver and NE's tablets would have been working, then their would have been a ****ing Microsoft Surface-Gate against New England.... because Spygate:mad:

Agreed.

I don't know why the rule isn't the same as for headsets not working where both teams can use them or both teams can't.

Its not a good day when a pocket passer qb is the leading rusher on your team..

I think it's easy now to say that he should have thrown to anybody other than Edelman, but the Broncos definitely deserve some credit for playing it perfectly. Edelman is supposed to legally pick the defender on White, and either because of a great read by the second defender or a preplanned double team, White was covered when he wasn't expected to be. In that moment, the easy read was that he was covered, and it seems that in that instant Brady didn't care to decide whether or not he was covered well.

I think I'll feel better when the panthers murder peyton in the SB

Yeah, well said.

The problem with these "Brady shoulda thrown here, look at this screenshot for proof" posts is that they are a little naive. Quarterbacks to do have an aerial view of the action. They go through progressions and look to different targets sequentially. As you alluded to, the defense cleverly disguised their coverage at the beginning of the play; while Gronk appears open in the screenshot, he didn't appear open shortly after the snap. If you look at the beginning of the snap, White was also shadowed by two Broncos.

White had SIXTEEN targets & only 5 catches...I think hey to him TOO much... Most targets on the team

I just saw that on the post game. It seemed like less. I think some were Brady throw aways when he was getting hit and trying to avoid a sack. He looked to have a step or two on the two R sideline routes and it looked like Brady just overthrew him.
