Biggest disappointments this whole season?

Lol Gronk? He single handedly nearly won the game at the end.
I didnt say Gronk was disappointing…. I said his "deep bone bruise" was.

I think the injury was more mental than physical for him. Even today he went to the sidelines after a damn charlie horse early on.

Lafell is way up there. He was just a huge flop this year. I was so excited after he came back because I thought he was going to be a huge deep threat. He just blew opportunity after opportunity. Think of how nice it would've been to have him stretching the field today.

I don't believe LaFell had even 1 reception today, am I wrong?

This game . The game we needed to win the most we couldn't. How is Manning 3-1 against Brady in AFCC games ? That is what annoys me the most .

The offensive line was a colossal disaster this year, and the backups should be better. Kline got a nice extension and suddenly became Jordan Devey. Not saying the two things are related, but it happened. Cannon is a highly paid backup. He can't even manage the RT spot, never mind fill in at LT. Mason and Jackson weren't ready. It was bad, and could be bad again next year. Let's hope it's addressed.

Really can't even focus on anything else after what I saw today.

In hindsight, the Solder injury and the loss of Lewis threw the offense out of whack to the point that the Pats had a meltdown in the final regular season game. Not a hallmark of a BB team the past 15 years. Time for a REAL outside threat at WR and some thought given to upgrading/bolstering the O line and depth. No doubt. A SB team should be able to at least threaten to run.

Exactly. You need to run when needed. The big time outside threat is needed as well. Will they get that though is the question.

He played great today. 144 yards I think… amazing.

But deep bone bruises heal within a week or two…. towards the end of the year he acted like he was coming back from another ACL injury.

Combine that with his knee and his back and yeah, he might be in a little pain. How do you know what he was acting like? Ever have a deep bruise from a 250 pound guys knee or elbow? DISLIKE All you want, your point of view baffles me. Great game last week and a really good game today.

Super Bowl or Bust. That's how it is every year with Brady and Belichick. The expectations are always high for the team and the fans.

We should've made it to the SB this year. The Broncos aren't as good as we made them look today.

The defense held the Pats to 18 points. They deserved it today. Stole our oline a lunch money and ate it in front of them. Just wish the 3rd down defense was better in the first half for the Pats.

Nooooooooo, they don't. I currently have a deep bone bruise in my back from getting pegged in the back by a forklift. That happened 4 months ago, and its still sore like it happened a week ago. Its the 2nd time I've had a deep bone bruise and the last one took 3 months to go away.

My top tier:
  • Losing to so many questionable teams later in the season.
  • Not finding a way to win in Denver.
  • Not then winning the Super Bowl.
My next tier:
  • STs. The Philly game. The muffed punts. The Gost fluke today. Etc.
  • Backup OTs, Cannon and Fleming alike.
  • Interior OL later in the season. They got exposed or hit rookie walls or whatever. Stork didn't exactly make a big sophomore leap.
  • Total collapse of the running game.
My third tier:
  • WRs who aren't quick white guys. A lot of that was injury, but the healthy ones didn't produce either.
  • The injury bug in general.

The biggest disappontment is Belichick for making very out of character poor coaching decisions down the stretch & in the AFC Championship game.

He coached like he was reading too many of his press clippings and could do no wrong.

When the pts are for the taking, just take them, should of trust the defence.

LaFell has been a decoy all year, just not good enough.

Not worried about the Oline as much as others, its a young line.

Our RB depth was horrible.

  1. The entire Offensive Line. We've invested a lot of draft picks in recent years. Sure the loss of Solder hurt, but it wasn't just that spot. Fleming, Tre Jackson, Shaq Mason... None of our recent picks have stepped up. Cannon is useless as a Tackle. Stork didnt have a great year. This unit can't run block at all, and they can't pass block. Brady was hit so many times this year it's surprising he didnt suffer a season ending injury. The coaches shifted them around a lot to begin the year but the OLine just never settled in and gelled.

This is ridiculous. The O-line was down to 3rd and 4th stringers up and down the line. To say the Pats didn't invest any draft capital in there is incorrect.

Yes, the O-line has been playing like crap and it's a big reason they lost the game. But with a 100% (or close to it) O-line, they win the game. Stop spreading the myth the Pats ignore O-line depth. Any team with as many O-line injuries wouldn't have even made it to the playoffs let along the AFCCG.

Actually you just read that incorrectly.

I said it's extra disappointing because WE HAVE invested so many draft picks on the OLine and none of those players have stepped up. I never said we ignored it.

Cannon is garbage. Kline is garbage. None of our recent picks could outplay them and take their spots? That's the disappointing part.

EDIT: Why are you giving me thumbs down when you clearly misread the OP?

The team played their hearts out today. What a fantastic defensive performance by both teams. We were only down 8 at the half, we could have been down 14+ and aside from one play we completely handled Denver's run game. Go defense!

Winning on the road is hard and we never strung together enough positive plays to tone the crowd down at all. I don't know how obvious it was on TV, but that stadium was an absolute **** show from start to finish.

Losing sucks but as a fan of the game of football it was a good game. Our last two playoff losses before this we were entirely outclassed. This one was hard fought but we fell short.I really enjoyed the game and feel very fortunate to have been there.
Game was not really as close as the final score

Biggest disappointment(s)?

Week 16 - @ Jets
Week 17 - @ Miami

The AFCCG should have been played at Gillette, and this thread would have never been created.

Maybe we'd have had a thread about how we're going to win in the playoffs with Garoppolo.

Injuries. We were decimated this year. Never seen it so bad.

Also, the quirky coaching decisions. Maybe the injuries influenced the decision making more than we know, but there were a lot of head scratchers this year.

Pretty much. Belichick cost this team a SB appearance. That's how I honestly feel right now.

Biggest disappointments was not getting the opportunity to see what Lewis would have offered throughout.

I wouldnt count on ever seeing it. He has never been able to stay healthy, college or pro

If i'm BB i treat him like a percy harvin. Minimize his touches during the year and hope he is healthy in the PO
