Healthy Brady, Gronk & Edelman going into the Superbowl. Best linebacker crew we've had in forever. Next year health is not guaranteed and Chandler Jones is likely gone. AFC teams get stronger, we get weaker... Hard to see a road back to the Superbowl after getting soooo close to going back to back.

wrong Chandler is here another year we get a healthy Dion Lewis and Nate Solder we rework some contracts resign those guys and get a new in between the tackles RB a couple O-Lineman and a back-up LB and I see no reason we can't win a couple more. If we resign Hightower, Collins and Jones which I think is highly likely with Jones being the least likely we have a great young core. Butler will only get better, Logan Ryan had a very good year and the rest of our team is still here cut some dead weight like Lafell and restructure Mayo and we'll be a force

Well the fourth one was pretty friggin hard to get. Pats will certainly be in the mix. Think of how bad this would have hurt if Butler doesn't make that play? Fourth SB put me at peace a bit as bad as this loss was. Would have been a tragedy to not win another contending all these years.

I think the Patriots have a solid chance this year. Unless Brady gets old real fast.

LoL...here go. At this stage in the season, most of these games are coin flips. This franchise is in great shape, but a fifth is not and was never a sure thing or even highly probable. Winning a SB is really tough.

Step off the ledge sir or maam...

I love the pats and i love tom brady... But that was the most disgraceful loss in team history. Serioulsy we got outcoached and out played by a geriatric that cant throw the ball 15 yards downfield. The upside is with that performance there was no way we were going to win a superbowl. Tom brady is still the goat.. No one deserves to be fired or anything like that.. But that was a dsgrace.

Plus, if we got an officiating crew who wasn't told to make sure Denver won, then we wouldn't be having this discussion. I saw too many Denver holds in the secondary to NOT believe that word was sent down to shade the game that way.

But yeah,we getthe healthy O-Line, plus all the guys that are on IR and there's an excellent chance this team gets a 5th Lombardi.

It's all on Brady.

If he regresses the team will as well. If he stays somewhat on this level we will be up there again next year. The defense will only get better, the OL hopefully be solidifed.. many reasons to be optimistic..

Every starter is under contract and with a couple of restructures there's a ton of cap room to sign everyone who will be free agents in 2018 too.

This team is built to play together for a while yet. Fix the OL grab a RB and it's on to 51.

Why do so many people act as if the Patriots have to take this team into next season while everyone else gets to improve?

Pfft.

18 guys on IR, including 6 starters. Still the best roster in the league 1-53. Just not enough gas left at the end (read: not enough on OL). Competing next year and next several not a grave concern.

Jones did a great job congratulating Collins on his big plays otherwise was erased.

Huh? Lewis coming back..D pretty much coming back..and O coming back.

Division title again AKA playoffs...slow ya roll

Our defense is going to be AWESOME next season. Easley coming back. Brown in his 2nd year. Butler is a legit #1 corner. Hightower and Collins fully healthy. Sheard and Jones coming off the edge. Nink doing whatever it is he does so well. Chung has discovered how to be good. Get a corner to replace Ryan and its amazing.

On offense we need a veteran guard and a real running back to complement Dion Lewis.

We are going to be fine next year. Clear AFC favorites

what a f***ing joke of a a f***ing thread.

Get weaker? There is basically 1 guy unsigned for next year and that Hicks. And the Pats will have their starting LT and best RB coming back.

What AFC teams are going to get that much better that makes anyone think the Pats wouldn't have a good shot at getting to the SB?

Need a corner, 2 offensive lineman who can play and a wr who can go vertical.

I'd settle for 2 of those things this off-season.

Sometimes a team gets out-coached. It happens, we are spoiled because we always see the Patriots out-coach teams. This time, Belichick outsmarted himself. Its okay, he is still a fantastic coach and there is nobody else I would rather see coach the Patriots. It wasn't as hard as the last AFC Championship game they lost, where they just got outplayed.
