Leave it up to a donko fan to find some stat that gives them a sense of hope.

Pats on grass - The Orange Mane - a Denver Broncos Fan Community

I am just looking at the last 3 years because that is when the Pats have had pretty much their current roster, and coaching staff.
They have played 15 games on grass

in those 3 years.
They have a record of 7-8 on grass

in those games.
Against playoff teams on grass
getting-stoned.gif
, their record is 2-4
They have lost a total of 13 games 8 of those games are on grass.

What was their last road win on grass? At SD I think last year? SD sucked and the Pats still struggled....they won in the end but the game was closer than it should've been...
There is def something to the grass thing

When was their last road win on grass...hmm...I've almost got it. No wait. I don't.

Oh yeah...Super Bowl 49 anyone? :D

There is a grain of truth to this. I have never been a gambler but when the pats played on grass At home, I would look at the teams playing them and their playing surfaces to see if the pats had an edge.

Bottom line: in general, turf teams are worse on grass. Grass teams are better on turf. Ive always assumed this is because turf is faster than grass and it's my belief that it is why Kraft tried to keep grass here as long as he could..

I think he really wanted make grass work here and I even heard rumors of some elaborate heating system under the new stadium to make it so but what they found is that it is not the low temperature that killed the grass late in the season, it was the lack of light because the sun tracks lower and the stadium shades the grass so much that it goes dormant.

The numbers are what they are but some can be explained like our loss at Denver this year (the Grass didn't cause Edelman, Amendola and Collins to be out not Harper to Fumble) and our loss at Denver in 2013, the grass didn't cause Gronk to be out. Edelman relies on extreme quickness, I get that, but most of the other Patriots don't seem like a slightly slower surface would cause problems. I'm guessing there's not a ton of causation here.

One good thing, we have a few nagging injuries like Hightower's knee and the grass should be a little easier on him than turf.

All fields should be made to the exact same specifications and I'm really not sure why they aren't. Just look at how awful some fields are, like the Redskins field.

Impossible, no?

In terms of health .... I'll take the grass if it means less chance of injury.

We have had more than our share of injury.

Whatever helps them sleep tight at night. Hope NE curb stomps them on Sunday afternoon.

I don't know where they're getting that stat. Quick look and it seems we are 1-5 or 1-6 on grass last 3 years

The Patriots were also 2-4 in their last six regular season games when playing in an oxygenated atmosphere, and they were 0-2 in their last two games when traveling south of Massachusetts.

More importantly, the Pats were 2-4 in their last six regular season games when playing on fields rather than ice/wood, and 0-2 in their last two games when the earth rotated around the sun.

Yet even more frightening, the Pats have NEVER won a game when the sun rotated around the earth. Better check the astronomical forecast for Sunday...

No you see, its a good thing we are playing in Denver instead of in the comfy confines of our home because a bunch of people on this forum said so!

I'm guessing that Miami and Denver are 5 of those losses.

Plus the bogus loss at Carolina, plus the loss at KC.

A division rival that at least one of the losses was a giveaway game.
