The former Broncos running back - is he still on the team? Do you think he's given the team some good looks this week in practice, and helped to decipher the run-fits and Denver's zone blocking scheme?

He's on the practice squad. I doubt he's given the Pats anything they don't already know.
Yeah I can't imagine Bill hasn't seen everything there is to see with Shanny's/Kubiak's playbook.

i remember bringing up brandon browner in a similar thread for last year's super bowl. a lot of people here dismissed the idea that he would know anything about the seahawks that would be useful. but he knew exactly how the seahawks were going to run that slant and made sure kearse was jammed at the LOS. Maybe ball knows something.

As long as he isn't in the game to fumble away the football and seal a win for the Donks

ba'al so hard

He was with Denver during their training camp so it is conceivable that he has given our D good practice looks this week. Not sure why others are disrespecting his potential contribution as a good practice player this week- it is easier for him to simulate a Denver running back this week because he was one earlier this year - not because he has to teach BB's staff about their run game.
If pats win we'll know based on whether he earns a black jersey or not.

That is credited to Ernie, not Browner.

Belichick said specifically that Browner knew what to do on the play since he had seen it before. You can see on the play Browner specifically instructing Malcolm what to do. Yes, Ernie identified it and the pats executed it. but it helped that someone who had seen it before was on the field.

When did we turn into the Jets?

Monte Ball is an utter waste of even a PS spot on the NEP, and offers nothing now and in the future.

On second thought ball wasn't even on the team when they hired kubiak

I've seen DYJ three times and I don't recall Bill ever saying Browner recognized it specifically due to his time in Seattle. It sounded like he meant Brandon recognized it from practice. A vet instructing a UDFA is what you would expect under any circumstance.

Not to mention the fact that multiple secondary personnel defended the play during practice that week, so they were all prepared for it.

I agree that Browner definitely helped set Butler's positioning, and that he was the unsung hero for the play, but I don't think the fact that he was a former Seahawk had much to do with it. It was a very basic pick play designed to create interference while getting Lockette open. It wasn't rocket science.
