There is no better quote that better encapsulates deflategate than what you just posted. Thank you!

I didn't say that he was a lousy owner. As a matter of fact I remember defending his ownership (along with you) with some Pats fans who wanted to criticize him for his attempted move to Hartford and some other issues. But that was before the latest capitulation. I think you're over reacting to my criticism of that.

.

Thanks for clarifying, but I was really centered on "I can describe Kraft's success as an owner in two words. Brady and Belichick.".

No Kraft = No Belichick.

And he was still the most successful Pats owner even before he went to crazy lengths and a 1st rounder to get that "duplicitous pond scum" of a loser head coach.......

But I do apologize since my rant may have been a bit harsh. It wasn't directed at you personally but at the school of thought that wants to throw out everything Kraft has done for 21 years over two (admittedly) major bad decisions.

It's great that all this is coming out not long after Goodell doubled down and said it was a fact the science proves the balls were tampered with. He reminds me of this chick.

If that not was a put on, I weep for the future of mankind.

Imagine the experience of trying to get her to understand the effect of the IGL on football pressures.

When it comes to actual success on the field, the Parcells/Carrol teams of the 90's were only slightly more successful than the Fairbanks/Erhardt teams of the mid to late 70's and the Berry/Meyer teams of the 80's. None of them won a SB but came close. It wasn't until Brady and Belichick got together that the Pats became consistent winners.

Actually the 1996 team is the only pre BB/Brady team that came close to winning a SB.

1986 wasn't even close.

1986 - - 3 road playoff games and an embarrassment in the SB (both on and off the field)
1996 - a bye and 2 HOME playoff games and a second half SB lead.

Here's the crazy thing about FrameGate that should be everyone's starting point.

Before last year's game the officials probably did what they always do. Quickly check the balls, add a little air if they need them, and send them in. They openly admit they didn't write down the PSI of 24 footballs

So at halftime with Kensil having a hissy fit, the lead official, Anderson, in an amazing feat of memory, recounted the PSI of 24 footballs down to the 10th of a percentage.

An amazing memory that Goodell, Kensil, Wells etc accept as gospel!

But which guage was used - yes that's the question, because if it's the one Anderson SAID he used "to the best of his recollection" (that same recollection that could recount 24 PSI levels from hours before) well, then clearly no significant deflation occurred.

Suddenly, in the assessment of Kensil, Goodell, Wells, etc. Anderson developed a case of Alzheimer's and his memory was VERY much in question.

So they all just assumed the opposite - and voila - they have the "evidence" they need to justify an elaborate work of fiction

You have to accept ALL of the above with a straight face even to have a SUSPICION that a rule violation occurred

THAT should be the starting point for any media or analysis of FrameGate

Now the question should be WHY the Commissioner's office is intent on framing Brady and penalizing the Patriots.

I submit that the fact that Brady is on the cusp of his 7th Super Bowl in 14 years - and what that means to the 31 other owners who want to profit and enjoy the spotlight - then I think their motivation to sit Brady for 4 games and dock the team a 1st rounder is clear.

Kraft tried to buy them off to put all of it behind everyone for the good of Brady and the NFL, but they screwed him.

I suspect Brady is and has been properly pissed about all of this.

I suspect Brady also knows that the best way to stick it to all of them - especially the other owners who are really behind this - is to win another Super Bowl.

So, needless to say, I'm feeling pretty good about our chances.

Could be.

The bastard didn't even fly back with the team.

Now THAT is something that is unforgivable.

And then there is the Boston Globe faction that still contends that the Tuna is the person most responsible for giving birth to the Golden Era. Unbelievable.

I hear ya. Happens to me all the time on my phone!
It's corrected now though, so thank you for the heads up before more people thought I had the vocabulary level of a Jets fan ;)

Dunno about the 2nd half per se but he came out onto the field with a faraway zombie look, disconnected from the SB spectacle. We know that he HAD BEEN negotiating with the Jets for a HC job. Parcells at that time in his life was consumed with ego and probably bitterly resented Kraft as a neophyte owner and simply went half-hearted into the SB, letting the inevitable take its course. I think we would have lost in any scenario.

What's mainstream is hatred and contempt of the Patriots. Most of these idiots love Goodell for tarnishing Brady and punishing the Pats.

I've actually encountered several Patriot haters who are less convinced of Pat wrongdoing after hearing all of the facts (I've found really hitting on the choice of which gauge to focus on, as well as the report being debunked by those who have been used in the past by Tagliabue to overturn Goodell suspensions on appeal helps raise eyebrows quite a bit. I also point out the shady logic of taking probabilities of probabilities---more probable than not that something happened, and probable general awareness, does NOT mean that Brady probably knew something happened, but only that he probably knew IF it happened--but that is a probability of a probability, which might well not be a probability in terms of combined odds). And they all universally agreed that it makes Goodell look more and more inept, the way it was handled.

Well, I'd say they came close to winning a SB they year they lost in the AFCCG on a phantom roughing the passer penalty (Raiders). :)

That wasn't the AFCCG. And it was on the road. They even came in 2nd in their division to Marchibroda's Colts.

Great team, though, they did go 11-3.

That was in the divisional round. The Raiders still had to beat the Steelers to get to the Super Bowl after that. (The Steelers were missing both Franco Harris and Rocky Bleier in that game).

Shows how truly great THIS Patriots team is, since they ar missing Lewis and Blount and are STILL favored on the road tomorrow.

I don't buy that Parcells was uninterested in winning the SB. IIRC if NE had won he'd have been the first coach to win a SB with two different teams. I think he's egotistical enough to have cared about that.

And if the refs actually call the blatant hold, NE is only down 7 (though admittedly GB would have the ball to start a drive).

NFL = FIFA

Just like FIFA there damn arrogance will be the death of them, they should be in prison.

I just wish Patriots fans would show some bollocks and take the NFL head on to get the million they stole and the picks back.

So what do you propose Pats fans should do?

How can we do that, Big Bucks?

Hire Carl Mayer, Esq?

The Pats never led in the second half.
