Channel 2 in Atlanta trolls northern college football fans. :)

Up here, college is for education.

Our PRO TEAMS win the championships, unlike yours, Atlanta.

The South has it all backwards. No wonder they lost the war.

It's still a lame deflection. If they truly can't handle a measly 2 inches of snow, they're embarrassingly incompetent.

Still going to make fun of GA or ATL for shutting down the state for 3 days for 1-2 inches of snow

I got a laugh out of the "Severe Weather Team."

You write as if we all know where you are.

Ok Shmess, my bad. I thought my posting I'm in the path of the storm with a sarcastic note on the warmer temps would give away I'm in Florida (Central Gulf Coast to be specific).....

What a weak ass argument/attempt at deflection, particularly only a year removed from the Buckeyes' enormous victory over Alabama.

Is this a literal or metaphorical question, and more importantly, will I know when it arrives?

Not only that, but whens the last time a team from Georgia won the national championship?

so...nice knowin' ya, Shmess...............

It's not like I'm some huge fan of Georgia but this irritates me. They almost never get snow so why should they spend lots of money on equipment to deal with it? Why would anyone in Georgia be prepared for something that never happens? It really annoys me when the people of say, Minnesota have a good laugh. Give me a break, like the situations are remotely comparable.

Or Southern teams winning Super Bowls (1 in the last 19 years).

Here I go with the first round of cleanup. Gotta dig out a space for the dog, and get the first foot off of the steps and driveway so there's room for the second foot. At least it is relatively dry and light. But wow is it coming fast right now here in DC.

Best of luck...

Now imagine that snowfall amount happening once a week for a month? That was New England last year...Brutal!

My brother is in Lake Mary, a NW suburb of Orlando. He sent me this picture of his damage from the storm...

I'm actually a fan of Georgia (the state not the school) and of Atlanta. One of my sons went to school down there and was treated very well, as were we when we went to visit. It was also a pleasure to drive around down there. Southern hospitality is real.

To be fair, the pro football teams win their championships with rosters littered from talent from the south. And I'm offended that you don't think I got a quality edumacation from the sterling institution that is the University of North Florida. I may write a strongly worded email about it to someone.

I'm a Patriots fan. The best team in the world.

College football is Minor Leagues.

Meanwhile, Georgia went heavy after GE and several hundred million dollars more than Boston did. But they are going to Boston for the far less money and better brains/economy. That must really suck for Georgia. At least they can still attract low end manufacturing plants and win school football championships. Yahoo!

I'm still standin'!

Haven't lost electricity yet. Just woke up and it truly is BEAUTIFUL. White out conditions and windy. The ten Leyland Cypress trees in our front yard are heavily covered and slightly bent but seem to be holding up well - - good thing we had them topped off a bit last spring.

Right now we are in the middle of what is said to be the most intense 12 Hours (midnight to noon) expected of this storm. If we lose electricity, I'll still stay in touch via cellphone.

My boy and I went out last night at 9pm to do a pretty easy shovel of the first 5-6 inches of snow. Did the driveway, front walks, sidewalks, etc. in 45 minutes. Cannot see right now that we made any dent in what is out there now. We'll use the snowblower we share with our neighbor this morning.

I don't care how unprepared people are.

1-2 inches are something to walk over or laugh at. (Ask any Rhode Island woman). :p

But seriously, Maryland spends lots of money on snow preparedness and everyone here freaks out at a dusting also. New Englanders ARE more snow tough. Now late summer hurricanes????? Southerners can laugh at New Englanders for THAT.

Definitely. Like actors and actresses who make their way to Broadway. Or Saudi patients who pay millions to get medical care in Boston.

But you're exactly right. Those southern football schools sure do supply most of the strong bodies for the big leagues.
