Excellent NY Times article on Defamegate

I have but one comment on this:

It would be more excellent if it called for the NFL to cut the crap and withdraw its appeal of the Brady decision.

Yes. The "the other owners think that Goodell helped cover up 'Spygate', so they were determined he shouldn't go easy on the Patriots this time" narrative explains a lot -- and it sounds as though the author got this as background info. Screw the Rooneys, screw the Maras. Screw the lot of them.

Spygate is almost a decade old, at this point I think everyone who's going to come around already has. Not too worried about it anymore. I care a whole lot more about the truth being understood by the general public re: deflategate.

This is a good article that fully explains not only why the Pats and Brady are completely innocent, but the real reasons why the NFL has acted so unjustly. But I have 2 points

First it doesn't spend enough time ASKING the obvious questions about the loss of the draft picks and continued attacks by continuing the court case. Second this important article will die quietly because none of the national sports media organizations like BSPN and SI will pick it up, and few local guys (Felger) will care because they are "tired" of it.

It's like you spent a year in jail falsely accused and when compelling exculpatory evidence is published no one cared. Think about it. What iare the 2 biggest story to come out of the mediots this week.(led by BSPN) Tom Brady is a crybaby and Manning is as good as Brady despite the record.

There is a great story out there on why the NFL falsely accused Brady and the Pats and rigged the Welles report to suit their narrative. Or they COULD find out why HGH was shipped to the Manning household, JUST at the same time Peyton was recovering from multiple surgeries. 2 Major stories that will go uncovered, while the back page of NY tabloids dictate the news agenda. Is it any wonder Pats fans are paranoid.

I have but one comment--is it too late for Kraft to reconsider not appealing the loss of or draft picks?
There is one more chance to right this wrong ( not likely though). The NFL owners meeting is Mar 23-26. Hopefully by then we will have a decision by the 2nd Circuit exonerating Brady. If that is the case, a strategic move would be for Bob Kraft ( or if he doesn't want to make waves let Jonathan do it) make a motion and ask for a vote by all 32 owners, even if not binding a sense of the owners that science has proven there was no malfeasance on the part of Brady or the Patriots. In addition, all appeals should be withdrawn and the Patriots should be given back their wrongfully seized draft picks. There won't be much sympathy for the Patriots but get it on the record who votes which way.

Note- I assume the comment was yours and not old rovers

I still find myself getting angry whenever I think of this topic. It will anger me again this Spring...

But I guess the logical part reminds me I'd rather root for a winner that get hate, than a loser that is beloved.

So what. Kraft did too! Thanks Bob!

"And you can’t ignore the laws of science, unless, of course, you’re the N.F.L (and Bob Kraft)."

So what do we tell the children?? (Referencing that ass hole of a reporter back in the first days of this BS)

Sometimes I laugh at this sh*t and sometimes I just want to punch someone in the mouth.

I laugh because it's just too funny to watch moronic sheeple blindly follow the going diatribe of the day spewed by scientifically ignorant butt munches who have based their entire opinion on an assumption. An assumption, by the way, which was spoonfed to them by a known industrial hired gun, by an "independent" NFL edited Wells report, and by countless others who simply had a "cheatriots" agenda.

I want to punch someone when I get tired of laughing I guess.

If Karma is at work on Sunday, Peyton will get his ass handed to him on the field and at the same time someone releases a photo of a syringe hanging out of his ass with an HGH label on it.

Not that I care if Peyton took the stuff or not but it would be nice for the NFL and the ignorant fan bases to suck a big fat Karma pie.

Had a few drinks.

Yeah well, that doesn't explain why the Colts balls don't lose air pressure at the Methadome.

So explain that smart guy?

Didn't think so.......

Actually, so. From the article: "Leonard surmises that because the Colts’ balls were tested after the Patriots’ balls, they had warmed up again."

This has been discussed at length. The Colts balls were measured after the Patriots balls. In fact, they were measured so late during the half time period that they ran out of time after measuring only four of them. Plenty of time for them to warm up.

Can we do a class action lawsuit against the NFL ...

The loss of the draft pick is not only a loss to the team ... it's a loss to us fans...they screwed the Patriot's fans.

Perhaps you're tired and your sarcasm radar was down.

Additionally that poster wrote "Yeah well, that doesn't explain why the Colts balls don't lose air pressure at the Methadome."

He was making a funny.

Sure, we can hire Carl Mayer, Esq.!

I found this passage interesting. It's not particularly unexpected I suppose, but to hear someone of Nocera's reputation saying it means something:

But that wasn’t the point. The other owners, feeling that the Patriots had been caught cheating a second time, wanted Goodell to crush them. Indeed, although the N.F.L. denies this, it was made clear to the commissioner that there would be repercussions for him if he went too easy on the Patriots. Once the Wells report was issued, with its faulty science and its circumstantial evidence, Goodell did what he had to do. He lowered the boom on his friend, adviser and protector, Kraft.

Which makes Kraft's Other-31-ism even more repulsive and pathetic.
