If you ask me this is pretty cool and shows who TB really is. Or at least a another small glimpse into who he is. Be pretty amazing if people actually looked at this and used it as a teaching tool instead of trying to cut him down at every step.

Dish-washer in Mich. who's Brady's secret weapon

"Brady doesn’t need the scouting reports, but he needs to receive them. He doesn’t need to talk to a dish-washer, but he needs to talk to somebody who was with him 20 years ago and understands how Brady got here. Jay Flannelly washes dishes, Tom Brady throws passes. Work is work, and it needs to be done right."

By FAR. my favorite article of the week.....and the one you need to go to that day in the future if you ever start to question Tom Brady.

Michael Rosenberg. I wont read anything by that hack. According to him the Gillete stadium videoboard positioned such that it can be used for cheating of some sort.

Man, the comments section is full of hatred and mockery for TFB. I'm sensing a great deal of envy there.

Nice article. Reminds one to remember your friends, especially the ones who remained loyal when things weren't so nice and comfortable. Keeps you grounded.

The Michigan education really paying off.....not one but two dishwasher jobs.

Am i the only one who thinks this article is just bizarre? Why would tom brady make a dishwasher send him breakdown of film every week? I love tom brady but wasting a dish washers time to send you scouting reports doesnt seem like a nice thing to do. The guy is barely scraping by. Maybe if he spent less time doing a useless exercise for the sake of some superstition he could have a better job. On the other hand if he is providing tom with something of value why not kick him a few bucks for his time. I dont know maybe tom brady does do this. But the article was written with a very weird tone. Like when the guy says if he didnt do it brady would get mad. Then the author goes on to say that brady obviously doesnt need the reports or even look at them maybe. Anyways not hating just thought the tone of the article was kinda screwed up like a celebrity thinking a dishwasher should just be happy that he even emails him back.. Even though this poor guy is doing hours upon hours of film review a week for no apparent reason.

You don't get the point of it do you?

I didnt read it with my thinking hat on.. Did i miss something like he is mentally challenged. If so than i am an idiot.

No i guess i dont man.. I just reread the article. Im not angry about it but i guess your right i dont get it. Expecting a relentless pursuit of excellence from a dishwasher seems a little condescending to me.

This guy was basically the only guy that stuck by Tom in the early days at Michigan as an assistant on the football team. They have a bond. He's been breaking down film for him for 20 years. Some things are done out of friendship that never stops.

Ok thanks for the explanation.. I guess i see it.. The article just made the friendship seem a little one sided. I know tom is a good guy i have read alot of articles on his loyalty and how nice he is to kids and stuff.. This one just left me scratching my head.

I wasn't going to write something like this, but it seems you might not have any friends who have decided not to join the rat race?

I know a pretty brilliant guy who actually took school seriously and learned a lot, but he happens to prefer his job stocking veggies at a grocery store in Somerville. He apparently doesn't need much to live. He's had the job for 25+ years. He lives in the same boarding house he's lived in for 2 decades. He runs marathons barefoot. It's just how he is. After graduating college, he enlisted and ended up in the first Iraq war. But even that didn't change him much.

Thanks for your perspective. I wasnt being snarky or anything like that. Sometimes people read things and see them from a different point of view. Thats why i asked. I am a college educated guy who has a non rat race job who believes in family more than money. Thats my perspective..for some reason when i read this article i took it as some bizzare form of celebrity worship, an out of touch celebrity that doesnt realize that breaking down film week after week as a ritual and replying with only a thanks beav is rude and dismissive. I also realize that this may not be what is going on here at all. But the way the article was written made me feel that way.. And i was wondering why people thought this was a heart warming article. I am sure i am wrong but that was my gut reaction so i was just looking for other peoples perspective.

Fyi i live in los angeles and see this stuff all the time so it was probably just me bringing my own **** into it.

probably a Liberal Arts major, trying to get by. Maybe he's writing the Great American Novel in his spare time. Or acting, yet to be discovered.

remember such people the next time politicians bash the lazy poor folks.

excellence should be expected. from everyone. the dishwasher is being an excellent friend to TB12. He knows his scouting is not needed, but his friendship is. It's what he does.

Happiness is where you find it. He is probably happier than most of the 1%. Most people scoff at such folks because they don't understand them.

Besides, if the dishwasher is in Michigan those might be the best jobs to be had. The Rust Belt economy is a dumpster fire aftermath.
