Charlottesville VA. Right dead center of that big red area in all the accumulation maps. Calling for 20 - 24+ inches, 35 MPH winds. Could get as high as 30" in some places.

About 4" down now. Light and powdery, no wind yet!! :)

Western NC here, Lake Hickory. We have about 3 inches and now freezing rain. Plow got stuck in front of my house, snow to heavy to push. :(Granted the town truck was an F150 with a plow on the front, not like those monsters up north.:D

LOL. I'm in the bullseye.

Expected to get over 2 feet. Maybe even over 30 inches.

Whoo.

I'm not far from 'chick.

Here just north of DC we're expecting anywhere from 20-30 inches. Worst part is it is expected to be wet, heavy snow. Not good. Not good. Oh yeah, and 40-50 mph winds.

It just started 1.5 hours ago and is coming down moderately hard right now.

I'm not I'm in Scotland where we are having a miniature heatwave for this time of year. Hitting 50 today. Stay safe pats fans.

Just relocated to north of Atlanta from RI and they declared a state of emergency for 21 counties.... wait for it... they are expecting possibly 2 inches. Yes that sound you heard was a head slap on my part.

No wonder they lost that war in the 1800's (and haven't stopped whining like Colt fans ever since).

I know. What if I lose power and can't see the game. I am so pissed.
Wife and I have plans to head north to watch the game if we lose power or cable.

I might have to rely on the Gameday Thread.

Out in Rockville MD here. Probably going to see north of 2 feet which will shut this whole area down. So have for until Monday, otherwise we might starve :)

I'm in WNC as well. About 2 hours further west but have a house on Lake Hickory. We've had a dusting but mostly rain today. Everyone goes in to a panic. As long as there's power from 3pm - 7pm Sunday it can do whatever it wants.

I used to go to Atlanta a LOT for business. It was truly amazing what happened there whenever it snowed. Wasn't often, but the folks driving there were a sight to behold when it did. 2 inches or even less would totally shut the place down. I'd get into my rental car and drive to work and be the only car on the road. Every once in a while some yahoo would go past me flying down the highway doing about 70. Invariably I'd find him spun off the road.

There was a tiny little hill, a slope really, out of our office's parking lot. I'd be the one to drive everyone's car up out of the lot whenever there was a little ice or snow. They were amazed how I could do that. They never listened when I told them to keep it steady and to not floor the gas. They'd always punch it and would spin tires all over the lot.

Good times.

Silver Spring, in the DC 'burls here. Forecast expects about 28'. so far about an inch down. Weds night we got a dusting to an inch and it was total chaos, no salt down so total gridlock. Can't wait to see how this goes. Metro already announced they are shutting down early this evening, closed Saturday and Sunday. I'm worried about power outages, and travel. Just moved, sharing an apartment with no TV so must get out to a bar or someplace with TV on Sunday. Shmessy or cscirpoli, can I bribe you with some of my home-brewed beer?

We're one hour north of Gillette and not expected to get too much. Good luck to the rest of youns.

Suburban Philly for 30 years after the first 25 in Boston. We're expected to get 17-23 inches with 50 mph winds but for whatever reason we always get a few more inches....
Plenty of beer, batteries and a well oiled snow blower.....This would be the 8th or 9th storm of 18 inches or more in the last decade so nbd......
Usually I clear the driveway and go to Dunkin for coffee...just me and the snow plow drivers.........

I have relatives in your area. Does it seem like you lose power more often than the norm and for longer than most???

Same here, I'm in Emmitsburg, MD. Expecting 24 to 30
