Chris Harris - Gametime Decision for Sunday

Good. That would be one heat-seeking missile Gronk wouldn't have to deal with. Now if Ward would slip in practice tomorrow and tweak something, then I'd feel even better for Gronk's knees.:p

I wonder if they'd consider putting Talib on Gronkowski with some help. I remember what Talib did to Jimmy Graham, and while Graham is soft compared to Gronk, he has similar speed and size. Talib is a physical corner who excels against bigger receivers. Seems like a waste to put Talib on someone like LaFell, who is unlikely to contribute anyway. The Jets put Revis on Gronkowski quite a lot in the last game and Brady didn't want to go anywhere near that.

If what you said comes to pass Great hands Danny Amendola - James White possibly even Steven Jackson would have plenty of opportunities to catch the Football. In addition Brandon LaFell might finally come alive...advantage Pats.

Who's their 4th corner? If Harris isn't effective apparently Roby would go outside, but then who's coming in in the slot? I think that could be the biggest advantage for the Pats and Amendola, or whoever playing in the slot, could have a huge game.

Harris being out and/or extremely limited bodes terribly for Denver.

It means their only dependable corner is Talib, and he matches up poorly with Edelman or Amendola's skill sets.

If they are intrepid enough to put Talib on Gronk with help, then Edelman, Amendola, and LaFell will all have plus match-ups and feast on the middle of the field and/or outside the numbers.

I don't know a lot of details about both, but is there any chance this is like Sherman's injury prior to the Super Bowl? Didn't we hear then that "if he plays, he'll be extremely limited?" and then he went on to allow one catch all game as I recall. Obviously the game result was good for us, but he was still effective. Could we be falling into that trap again or are there significant differences this time around?

Looks like he will play. Seems to be more rope a dope tactics by the Donks. They are pulling out all the stops this week.

sherman was never tested by Brady. brady picked on Tharold Simon a lot. :D

Fair point...usually good idea not to depend on anybody being hurt.

But that Dr. Chao guy says he won't be himself, and I'm starting to be fully on board with that armchair quack (seriously) so who knows?

I don't think the Harris injury is illegitimate. He was in and out of the Pittsburgh game after aggravating the shoulder injury. Meanwhile, Denver began playing more zone coverages and as a result, there were gaping holes where Bryant, Hayward-Bey, Coates took advantage of.

I doubt a week will have improved his condition. Had he two weeks like Sherman did in between the NFCCG and SB49, then perhaps it would have given him a chance to heal up enough to compete closer to his pro-bowl form.

That is true, but I think that was more a factor of Lane going out.
