Pete Prisco Strikes Again...

Total garbage. I have no problem with forehead lovers grasping for leverage whether or not Manning is better. They are lost@blind so I Don't really care. But the words "significantly smarter" are downright idiotic on his part.

My completely impartial take:

Manning's career is not over. But as of right now, the play that defines Manning's career is the following:

Dilfer blaming the INT on Reggie Wayne immediately is both typical and hysterically funny.

Interesting note: The 4 games I cited are the only playoff games where Brady has not scored a TD. In the meantime, Manning has failed to score a passing TD in 5 playoff games, and he's lost 3 of those 5 games. So, Manning doesn't have the excuse of "We were winning and we ran it in."

Scores when Manning threw no TDs:
16-19 (l) - ran for a TD
14-31 (l)
3-20 (l)
15-6 (w)
23-16 (w)

Scores where Brady threw no TDs:
16-13 (w)
24-17 (w)
32-20 (w)
43-22 (w)

Again, that's supposed to somehow be in Manning's favor.

Minor edit/question: Is the 14-31 game supposed to be the 41-0 loss to the Jets in 2002? Manning was 14 for 31 passing that day with 2 INTs.

If that is the game, allow me to share one of my favorite Peyton Manning playoff memories: It's late in the game, the Jets are up big, and the Colts offense is near midfield, facing a 4th and short. The Colts line up in an I formation to go for the first down. Manning does his full aerobic instructor routine at the line; pointing, shouting, walking around, waving his arms, the whole act. Through it all, no one on the Jets defense moves. The ball is snapped, Manning hands off and the Jets swarm the running back in the backfield, stopping him well short and preserving the shutout (something else that's never happened to Brady in the playoffs.) Still puts a smile on my face all these years later.

Yes. I mistakenly put down his completions and attempts rather than the score. Thanks for catching that.

Prisco also cited Manning's ability to limit turnovers lately as a reason his intelligence was superior to Brady's. Manning had 17 interceptions in 10 games this season, while Brady had seven in 16.

Lately apparently = this past weekend, when Brady also didn't have any turnovers.

Because he sure as hell can't mean this season, when he led the league in picks per game by a ****ing mile.
Maybe manning limited his INTs because he was on the bench for a couple of months and has been out there for a handful of plays. Not playing does have a tendency to cut down on ones interceptions.

PM: 9 td's, 17 ints. Yea Manning reads defenses better. Gotchao_O

I'm no expert, but it feels like the guy who makes significantly better pre-snap reads should achieve significantly better post-snap results.

That's craaaaazy talk! :D

Seriously though, Manning-apologists like Prisco will always come equipped with built-in excuses like drops or a receiver/blocking malfunction to compensate for those "misleading" stats.

Nothing shall stand in the way of perpetuating the mythology of #18 as the GOAT.

This reminds me of the tail-end of the Reagan Administration. Had a great run for 7 years. Economy was cranking. Won the Cold War. America was feeling good.....then the stock market crashed, we woke up to all this debt and Iran-Contra happened....but the last couple of months was a farewell tour and everyone sucking up what he did well and stopped talking about what he became.

You can always tell that this is a MA moonbat site

Prisco thinks highly of Brady but has always leaned to Manning in this debate. He's entitled to his opinion.

He cracks me up on Twitter when Tebow trolls get on his case. Let's just say he doesn't think nearly as highly of Tebow as he does Brady and Manning.

"Prisco also cited Manning's ability to limit turnovers lately..."

Manning limited his turnovers by sitting on the bench from halftime on 11/15 to the second half of a game on 1/3. Playing 6 quarters of football over a 2 month period is a good way to avoid throwing INTs. Playing against bad pass defenses like SD and Pittsburgh doesn't hurt, either.

Sitting PEDton down allowed Blake Bortles to pass him for the INT lead. Bortles had 18 in 16 starts and P6 had 17 in 9 starts.
