Better chance of seeing White doing that than SJACK. White can break long gainers for sure.

Yeah a long gain (even if a fluke) would help the cause...

He won't have more than 30 yards. Likely around 20.

But the passing game will be on point, so no need to worry.

With a vacant spot on the 53, maybe Ball will get activated and be able to contribute to all the optimism on yardage expressed here?

I know this is #12's offense but wouldn't it be great if #39 could hang 125 yards on the vaunted Denver defense? The last few games and associated practices could be like a pre-season conditioning assignment.
Not too likely but would be nice. :):D:eek:
Be nice if Alan Branch got 6 sacks too.

I think this is a possibility:

We are going to spread them out. They will struggle covering us when we spread. They will try to jam, they will try to double underneath. We should have early success throwing, and force them to push those strategies. This will open up the shot gun draw play, and if White can get a seam, he could go a long way against a D spread across the field.

I think Jackson looks great. Saturday was my first time seeing him in person and I was impressed with his size. Hes bigger than Dillon was and more proportioned.

I see no reason why he couldn't have the type of game you suggest just depends on the game plan.

Except for the one small Wolfe-Williams-Jackson & Miller-Ware-Marshall-Trevaythen speedbump.

SJax is still a good load, but isnt all that quick anymore. Denver D is very quick L-R. If SJax can control the temptation that squeelers fell for of looking for a better hole and just take the VERY FIRST hole get 2-4 yds each time; i could see him going 15-18 runs for 80 yds. More is not going to be there.

That would be awesome, but from what I've seen so far, it ain't happenin'. I don't know whether it's the line or Jackson having lost a step (probably a combo of the two), but he hasn't been able to do much more than get to the LOS then go down.

I wanna see them hit him on some screens and I definitely wanna see him take on some DBs on that second level.
I heard he is pretty good catching balls out of the backfield? Certainly, Denver will not be prepared for that!

After watching the KC game, and how they got their running game going without a dominant offensive line, I wonder why we haven't seen the Pats mix in a few more zone-read runs out of shotgun for White.

It would be a much more natural extension of our offense, far less telegraphed than when we stop, put Jackson in and Brady under center, and since we wouldn't even need to substitute, we could pick the personnel matchups we want. If we catch Miller or Ware getting downfield too quickly, and White breaks off a big gain through their vacated gap, even just once, it could take some of the aggressiveness off their pass rush.

It's possible that with Cannon's toe and Vollmer's ankle, neither of our tackles have the mobility for the play. Or perhaps, on running plays, Belichick prefers to minimize the possibility of being stopped for a loss rather than maximize the chance of gaining more than 3 yards. One of the things that stands out about the Pats' running game is that, despite it's overall lack of production, it actually leads the league in percentage of runs stuffed for zero or negative yards. Who'd have thought?

Sjax contributing is going to be a huge factor. He doesn't have to get a ton of yards per say. But he could provide some opportunities to slow the rush down. A couple decent gains early from him could be huge.

On the Brady sneak TD I was hoping to see Jax get chance to punch it in.

I actually think he looks fine and much better than Blount and Bolden. He has had to run against some big dt like Suh, Wilkerson, Poe etc. This upcoming game will be his 1st game against a smaller front.

The one negative I have noticed is his lack of patience when we pull a linemen in front of him.

I think what the Pats need to do is figure out ways to run the ball from passing formations. The problem is that lately when the Pats run the ball they are doing it from 2 TE's with a FB and are telegraphing they they are running the ball, and then compound the problem by running the ball right up the middle almost every time. No deception. No different looks. As complex as our passing offense is, our running attack has been kindergarten simple

Jackson can catch the ball, so we shouldn't be afraid to have him in there on 3rd and longs.

Agree. His timing seems off on the delayed runs. I'm hopeful once he gets past that we'll see what he can really do. Besides that no complaints runs hard. It must be a ***** getting him on the ground.

He looks like he's taking/dishing out hits better than Blount. I don't doubt that the dude can bust some heads, but I just wonder if he has the stamina to simply run 125 yards in a straight line.

There is a certain type of athlete that can get off the couch in their mid/late-30s and still play with the best. Have we forgotten Seau? I don't know if SJax is of that caliber, but considering our situation, I like his chances.

Honestly I'd be happy if he got 50 yards. Just not sure he's got enough in the tank
