A backup at best at this point. When was he last impactful--2010?

Pretty sure that's it for Mayo as a Patriot. Hope he can get/stay healthy wherever he lands next, he deserves to finish his career right.

For now, I really hope Jamie Collins is okay and good to go Sunday.

Not a chance imo.

I am not saying the Patriots. Back in the NFL.

But he will definitely be willing to take a pay cut to stay. The question is whether it will be enough or if the Pats are willing to carry him another year with his injury history.

Good role player this year but I didn't want to see him on the field. Collins and Hightower better be ready.

2012 pro bowler. And was on his way to another All Pro year in 2013 when he got hurt.

After getting hurt last he was impactful on the sideline in helping Collins and Hightower.

If he chooses to get into coaching I believe he has a chance to go far.

huge bummer.

He was a great player, and more importantly a great person.

That being said, there is no way the patriots don't cut him now. 3 years in a row ending on IR. He's going to make some team in the NFL really happy next year, but its highly unlikely that team will be the patriots:(

Fixed it.

Freeny or Fleming to start in his place?

I'd venture a guess that he'd have to take a pretty nice pay cut to stay with the team going forward. Best wishes for a full recovery. If that was his last down as a Patriot, it's been a joy watching him play.

He could still be again. Returning from an a pectoral tear (from what Ive heard reported) often require a full year to come back at 100%.
Pec was 2 years ago. Torn patella was this year.

I'm skeptical. His body might be breaking down

His numbers have dropped significantly since 2012. Injuries have done him in.

Impossible not to like and respect the guy, but the reality is he was bringing little to the field.
