NE is when Brady has his top three weapons. Gronkowski is unquestionably the most dangerous play maker in the unit. (One of the most dangerous play makers in football, for that matter.) He overwhelms linebackers and safeties with his rare combination of size, strength and athleticism. With Gronkowski now owning the NFL record for most receiving touchdowns by tight end in the playoffs (eight), the Donkeys have to play close attention to his whereabouts on every single down.

While that plan is certainly sensible, based on the All-Pro tight end's success, the presence of Edelman and Amendola complicates matters. These two are crafty route runners from the slot, and their quickness poses problems for defenders when the Pats use them on option routes or crossers between the numbers. Thus, opponents attempting to bracket or double-team Gronkowski run the risk of getting picked apart on an assortment of quick routes from either receiver.

It will be fun to watch

Hope they have two more wins in a row, at least, in them. Always fun to see this offense perform well.

Love gronk! As my man andy hart says, when gronk is on the field and healthy you win. Its that simple!

You cannot double cover all three so someone is there 1-1 and then you can split out White and don't forget LaFell and Martin. Tough O to prepare for especially when your 2ndary is banged up.

Not to mention Keyshawn Martin who seems to get open deep a couple of times a game, even without Edelman and Amendola in the lineup. This should be a great game with a few nice vertical passes that we may even hit on.

In the last 23 games Julian Edelman has played in, including the playoffs, the Patriots are 22-1.

When was the last time we lost? Green Bay? I don't recall him even playing in that throwaway Buffalo game in 2014.

I think the last game we lost at 'full strength'' was at Lambea last year. I still put it in parentheses because IIRC we had key injuries to the OL and CB which obviously kills against a guy like Rodgers who picked apart our lower CB's. But for fairness sake, because it's rare youre truly full strength, we did have all our top guys for that one.

They are 10-0 when he has Edelman in the lineup.

If the officiating is fair the Pats win
