Great article, thanks for sharing!

One thing I admire about Edelman: He failed at his dream (to be an NFL QB), but then threw himself with total commitment into chasing a related dream (to excel at something else in the NFL and be recognized accordingly).

Hate the fact that this author insists on calling Edelman a "slot" receiver. He lines up outside as much as he does inside..

He also has the order incorrect when it comes to how Brady progressed on receivers because Brown came before Branch.. And Branch was also more than a slot receiver/

And New England’s much maligned offensive line—who, because of injuries and poor play, had seen 13 different lineup combinations this season
They must have passed 13 by the 4th game of the season? I thought the number was in the 30's.

I appreciate the number of 2.13 (fastest), the number of seconds it takes for Brady to throw the ball with JE11 in there and 2.65 without him there (8th slowest).

Great find! Such a rarity to come across someone who actually has the IQ and knows what they are talking about.

not only that, but the fact that the guy can come back from a broken foot, with plates in each shoe and look just as effective as he did prior is a testament to his work ethic. alot of the "talking points" ive heard before the game were that he would be a shell of himself

It would have been more accurate to call him a "short, white" receiver. But I guess that's not PC, so "slot receiver" it is!

He has plates in each shoe?

That's what they said during the game. Apparently, they put a steel plate in both shoes so as to not mess with his balance.

Didn't catch that. Makes total sense.

So far the 2015/2016 N.E. Patriots are undefeated when Julian Edelman Starts. We haven't lost a Game with him yet counting last postseason up to Giants game when he got hurt...here's hoping the win steak continues.

I wish Tebow would have done the same

Yup. Matter of fact, JE has a few more targets and catches OUTSIDE the #'s than he does inside. To me , he is the Gronk of all wrs in the NFL. I mean that in the sense that just like gronk greatly impacts in many ways- he's hands-down the best blocker on the team, draws double and even ttiple-teams, JE impacts the entire offense in a bunch of ways. There's not a wr in the NFL I would trade him straight up for, including AB. Not to mention he's the funniest guy on the team, quotes shakespeare and is probably the smartest guy on the team. Despite those gaffes, that's the best article on je by a non-patriot beat writer I've ever seen.(Reiss and curran only ones I've seen better)

and is probably the smartest guy on the team.
Of the players on the team (or on IR), that honor probably goes to Fleming, who majored in aeronautics at Stanford, or to Develin, who majored in mechanical engineering at Brown.

I'm disappointed we didn't get Urschel. He's smart, even has a great twitter feed, where he posts about math and sometimes chess puzzles. He's a Patriot stuck in the uniform of a Raven. Must be terrible for him with that coach.
