Agree. They are, of course, there to be spin-doctors and be sure that only what is most favorable to the NFL gets into the media and before lawmakers. That's part of their jobs. These were Lieweke hires. Goodell doesn't have the brain power organizational vision to bring these kind of high-caliber people into the organization.
At the end of the day, they needed to raise the IQ level and thoughtfulness of that organization. All these NYJ retreads and football lifers who benefited from nepotism and the good ole boy network were really hurting them. On matters of public interest, their clumsiness and lack of foresight has been exposed time and time again.
I concur with your statements. Lockhart and Hogan are pros. Hopefully their job functions and roles are purposed more for the good of football than stratagize over how to cover-up and spin-doctor. The problem is their backgrounds are perfect to execute such behavior.
However, neither one (especially Hogan) will have any time for being part of something that will blow up in their face and embarrass them professionally, so they won't be doing much "covering up."
If things fall the way a lot of people in DC are now saying that they are going to fall and Hillary is indicted for her handling of classified materials, particularly emails related to "Special Access Programs" (which sank Petraeus), she will be up for a big job in a Biden Administration like Counsel to the President or Deputy AG.
My guess is that Pash, Nash and Kensil steer clear of them both and that neither is privy to the good ol' boy chatter around the old water cooler....much to their relief, I am sure.
