This is the most pivotal game in both Brady and Manning's career.

I believe Brady is already the GOAT. There are several that agree with this assessment and several that don't. Many still believe Manning is better than Brady. This is the reason why I believe this next game is the deciding factor which will rest the case in Brady's favor once and for all. However, it could also catapult Manning into the conversation of GOAT by his fans if they don't already think he is. Here are the reasons for each.

1. Brady wins - Goes to his 7th SB defeating and ending the career of his rival Manning and in the process becomes the undisputed GOAT leaving Manning in the dark.

2. Manning wins - Goes to his 4th SB defeating his rival Brady and if if he wins it and retires, would be a feel good story that everyone will cite for his GOAT status.

So this game is pivotal for both QB's.

The most important game of a football player's career is the one he is playing that week. If he is thinking about the importance of another game, then he probably just cost his team this week's game.

The only way tom brady gets considered the goat Unanimously or nearly so is by winning 5 superbowls.. I hate to say it but people are stupid. And all they understand is this guy won more superbowls than this guy. Before you jump down my throat this is not my opinion. Brady for me is the goat by a fairly large margin after last years superbowl. I thought you could make a strong case before it but now its pretty open and shut given case given the same amount of sb victories and same sb mvps as montana. The only guy brady is competing with in everyones mind is montana. No one thinks peyton is better than brady anymore. If brady win a superbowls this year no one with an opinion that matter will think he isnt the goat.

Brady is the GOAT, period. Until another player surpasses his achievements it will remain that way.

No game in Brady's career will ever be as pivotal as his first Super Bowl. That's what established enough BB/Brady mystique to survive a mediocre followup season and have the FAs and other believers to win two more quick championships.

If you to say that the Snow Bowl was more pivotal yet, I won't argue hard, but to me the Super Bowl itself was #1.

I never said that Brady isn't the GOAT. But you have to agree that every now and then you hear people talking about Manning in the same sentence with Brady which annoys me. What I said is that winning this game would end this conversation once and for all.
The conversation ended a long time ago.

Brady and Montana are tied in rings. Brady is ahead in every other measure.

Yes PM has all the regular season stats but I would counter that Brady dominates Manning in the only stats that matter.

Most wins All Time
Best Win % All time
Most Playoff wins
Most CCG appearances
Most CCG wins
Most SB appearances
Most SB wins (tied Bradshaw, Montanna)

The only playoff record manning has over Brady.... one and dones.

There will always be fans who think PM is a better QB than TB. They'll have their own reasons, slant, and cherry-picked argument.

Hell I ran into someone a few months ago who says Bradshaw is still better than TB.

When it comes to anything to do with the Patriots I'm done trying to unwarp the thinking.

The biggest game for Tom is always "the next one".

I don't agree. TB12 has nothing to prove. His legacy is cemented

Can you guys think about what I said from a neutral fan's perspective and not as a Pats fan? WE as Pats fans know that Brady is already the GOAT. I want every ****ing football fan to agree that Brady is the GOAT.
Just because you think and feel that way doesn't mean everyone else does. What makes you feel that because you come to a conclusion that it has to be right? The whole argument is subjective depending on the person's favorite team and passion. Besides, these games don't mean squat towards Brady's overall legacy at this point because he has already accomplished enough. Everything from here is just gravy. After Brady retires (hopefully not for 2-3 years), most people who now despise him, will inevitably and begrudgingly have to look long and hard at the overall picture and be hard pressed NOT to give him the crown as the GOAT QB.

As a fan of neither team, I'm going to just sit back and enjoy this game in which the two QBs that have defined the position since the turn of the 21st century go at it one last time.

Unfortunately for Peyton, at 40 I just don't think he has the physical skills to pull out a great game anymore. Whatever happens, I hope he does himself proud. I'm sure Brady will.

Fans of other teams will hate on Brady, regardless of what he has done. Manning has lost to Brady-led teams far more than he has won those games, and this is not for the Super Bowl. What possible difference does it make if Brady is 11-5 or 11-6 against Manning? It is still a substantial advantage.

At this point, this is more like the Broncos team that carried Elway at the end of his career rather than the team he carried for years earlier. Manning is not the heart of the team now - defense is. Brady remains the heart of the Pats. If the Broncos defense somehow carries Manning to the promised land, then the fact he was there for the ride after sitting out a bunch of games does not stand as a testament to how great a QB he is in his career. It makes him Trent Dilfer for this season.

Forget it. You can't make people agree to something they don't want to agree to. In any case, these judgments are best left to the future. Just enjoy his talent and ability while you can and stop fretting about what everyone else thinks.

I like Fencer's post but I'm going with SB 49. SB 49 was the game. The Brady/BB team got their 4th ring and we would have never heard the end of deflated footballs if they had lost.

SB 49 + Court win + One of Brady's career best seasons = shoving deflategate deeper and deeper up Roger's *** as well as cementing his legacy.

The next SB is icing on the cake.

my gosh..stop with the brady-manning BS..who the f cares. It's about winning the game and getting to another SB. I really can't understand why so many care more about Brady's legacy than just winning the SB any way possible. So many scour the internet just looking for negative articles to get them all upset. How about the thread yesterday about is just wining enough..really?

The score is 11-5. If the score becomes 11-6, you do not declare the one with six to be the winner.

Winner

The haters will hate even if he wins 10 Super Bowls, and that obviously includes the league office and all their minions.

Very true, although the post season record is dead even at 2-2 with Manning winning the most recent 2. I'd like to see Brady win the tiebreaker on this stat even though it is pretty inconsequential. I just like to see him in the win column for everything!
