So why do most of us dislike Peyton Manning?

What he did to that poor female athletic trainer while he was at Tennessee is despicable. Biggest phony in the NFL and his father has made sure the media never mentions the sexual assault. Archie and Gomer are truly detestable human beings.

Manufactured popularity.
&
Immense over-reaction to lieing BS.

I hate when media or some peer-pressure driven group tries to convince me of something that doesnt make sense or i know is not true.

whether that is: that CO2 is something more than what people exhale and plants consume or that Pay-me-a-ton is god's gift to football (when actually he represents almost every bad aspect i hate [blames teammates, looks for own payday at expense of team depth, chokes in big games, calls own number every chance he can, and he is ubiquitous in commercial time [just please go away already], and for some reason is teflon man when does wrong (HGH or trainer-"moon"-gate)]).

For all i know he may be a good guy, but i give less credence just because so many try to convince me its true.

That's what I was saying before too, he's got this as shucks thing that everyone buys into and ignores that he did this. What makes it so much worse for me is that he was sued for defamation (I believe, I could be slightly wrong on what she took him to court on) later on because he wrote and talked about how she was doing all this for money and he never did anything to her and it violated the settlement they had agreed to. If he apologized and said it was something dumb he did in college I'd respect that so much more, I mean it was 20 years ago but no he just calls her and anyone else who says anything bad about him a liar

Osweiller doesn't make the checks at the line that Manning does
Osweiller doesn't get that non-sack call that Manning did
Osweiler doesn't flop to the ground when a pass rusher gets within arms reach

Anyone catch his post-game on the field interview?

"and then I got that touchdown"

(referring to the final score)

BINGO

This can't be a coincidence:

It's not Manning I don't like, it's the damn ball washing med....oh wait somebody already said this.

I don't dislike him at all, I think he's a pretty funny guy (was much funnier than Tom on SNL). Any animus is only due to the fact that he stands in the way of #5.

Now Eli, on the other hand..:(

For me, it is partially because of fantasy football. His fantasy football prowess has made it appear that his football career was far more meaningful than it really was.

Combine that with his 'football pedigree', silver spoon, and high draft choice and I tend to get a little more salty.

THEN add on a thousand freaking ads containing that forehead that intervene in every game and wow... I'm so sick of seeing him that I just can't stop wishing he would retire already.

It's weird. I don't have a legit answer on why I don't like him. And it's funny because Brady and Peyton are pretty good friends, and Brady looks up to him

I actually don't dislike him at all -- he's one of the greats

but that doesn't mean I can't still rip him, particularly when ppl try to compare him to brady loool
for example, some industry troll was just trotting out the usual nonsense on twitter about an article he had written declaring manning just as good as brady in the postseason, so I checked out manning's postseason games outdoors in sub 50 degree weather, outside his little indy hothouse
8 games, 59% comp, 5.57 ypa, 8 td, 12 int, 6 fumbles leading his offense to 13 ppg

still don't hate him, tho

Because he is a SCREAMING ***HOLE!!!!! Next question.....
