Per FootballZebras, AFCCG referee likely to be good ole Ed Hochuli

Hochuli and Vinovich likely Conference Championship referees | Football Zebras

"Based on the assignment of Hochuli and Vinovich to an NFC and AFC divisional game respectively, it is believed that the championship game assignments would switch conferences, thus putting Hochuli in Denver for the Patriots-Broncos game and Bill Vinovich in Charlotte, N.C., for the Cardinals-Panthers."

If true, it will be the 3rd patriots game he does this season, and all will have been on the road. He reffed the November 15 game @ the Giants, and the regular season finale in Miami

Rather have Vinovich. He was solid overall in the Divisonal round against Baltimore last year.

I love Vinovoch'a approach to the craft of refereeing in general. I appreciate how he refs basketball and tries to understand the nuances of refereeing various sports. He's a pro's pro.

Put me down for Vinovich. His crew was pretty bad in the Ravens game last year, some brutal PI calls on Revis, but they made up for it in a pretty evenly reffed Super Bowl.

Can't stand Hochuli, with his mindless explanations and numerous huddles. His crew loves their Offense Pass Interference calls and he loves the cameras. Hochuli thinks the people pay to see him.....please no.

Vinovich is the best in the league in my opinion. I was hoping for him.

Remember, neither ref has their regular crew.

These are playoff "all-star" crews so you can't take stock in how they did in the regular season.

Really like the Craig Wrolsted crew from last Saturday, he let them "play", but kept the game tight..

But that doesn't matter on Sunday..

As long as its not Triplette or whoever it was that butchered the pats donks game earlier this year.

Amazingly, FootballZebras said on Twitter the other day they'd been told that crew got a perfect grade for the game!

Kinda shows it was rigged, if that was the case really.

Eh, it is what it is. Ed is annoying but OK-ish, sorta. Plus without his crew.

That would be Tony Corente

Yup...would way rather have Vinovich. Called a decent, balanced Super Bowl too. But then again refs are expected to "let them play" in the big game.
