Easy one for me, it would be Jonathan Bullard. This would enable us to extend Sheard rather than Chandler Jones and have Bullard and Easley next to each other on passing downs with Sheard rushing off the edge. Bullard/Easley would be unstoppable. My other choice would be a linebacker - Jack/Jaylon Smith if they fall or Darron Lee.

So what say you?

Jarran Reed or A'shawn Robinson would be interesting too - although I'd prefer Reed. I think he could be a little Wilforkian. Prefer him to Danny Shelton.

a little too early for salt in the wound Manx!

One of the interesting points about where our team is right now, there really isnt one position you could definitely say you could find a starter, or potential starter in the first year. You could make a case for a guard, but its unlikely you will find one who will step in above the two picks from last year or kline. You could make a case for corner, but again, Ryan is a pretty good corner who is no slouch at this point.

I am most interested to see how far Jaylon Smith falls. He is almost assuredly going to miss a good portion of next season, if not all of it, and teams will have to have a lot of patience to wait on that payback. Its safe to assume I think he would be worth the risk and the wait, if he fell that low.

Outside of that, I am not sure where I look. I like your idea of an edge rusher/DE, and I like the idea of a Vollmer replacement. You could talk me in to a receiver, but I think I prefer the 2nd/3rd round options more than the 1st rounders outside of Treadwell. Henry is the only TE who could go that high, and I dont even think hes worth a first.

If I had to choose today, I would pray that Smith fell in to the mid 20s and try my best to move up to grab him.

Dt- Robinson of Alabama!

With him and brown in the middle of the defense, it would allow us to bring in vans bit Easley just for obvious passing downs and free up Hightower to make more plays.

J. Spriggs - T - Indiana. If Nassib from PSU falls to 95, I'd pick him as a potential replacement
for Chandler.

I was about to say that I wasn't a fan of Nassib but then I realised I was thinking of the other DE who's name escapes me. Good effort guy with little athleticism.

No idea. I have not looked much but no one jumps out as me as a great value pick in round 1 at just about any spot of it. A down year for round 1 is my first and second impression.

Honestly I'd trade down if possible most likely. If I need to pick.. Maybe Henry Hunter - TE

Anthont Zettel - 3 Tech - DT(3-4 DE)? He wasn't as good this year for sure. Not sure he makes it in NFL. But, his dad passed away in Oct after losing battle with cancer. Anthony went back and forth a few times during the season. He's from Michigan. He was in grad school so there was some schedule flexibility. Rough
fall for the young man.

Nassib absolutely dominated some games. Former walk-on who built himself into an absolute specimen. Not comparing the two as players. A little bit like JJ Watt story

Actually it was Nassib I was thinking of. All effort but no athleticism. I think he'll work out well in CFB, but I have a feeling he'll struggle in the NFL. We shall see.

No one has jumped out for me yet, but I have primarily focused on a few positions. If I was forced to pick today I might go with Reggie Ragland. He seems like a Hightower/Mayo type and would give the Patriots 3 studs at LB. I think with Ragland and Hightower, you could see Collins get to do some more pass rushing. I think there will be some DLine value at the end of the first, but overall, its not a horrible year to not have a first, if you have to lose one that is.

Probably trade down

Obviously it's early days still, but is this looking like a weak draft then?

Its not so much a weak draft, in fact there is some good talent and depth at some positions that haven't had depth in the past few years.
It is looking like this draft does not have a lot of top end talent though, much like the 2013 draft.

another corner, tackle and wideout are my priorities at present

Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State

Am not yet in draft mode but slowly starting up so no names from me yet but my immediate thought was that the time seems right to get another tackle to groom for a year behind Vollmer and Solder.

I have been checking out kamalei correa from Boise st. He looks like a more athletic ninkovich to me.

Very smart, great pursuit, and edge setting.

He's in the 25-40 range right now.
