While the poor performance in Denver has been a problem in the past, I wouldn't stack this Broncos team as a deserving #1 or #2 seed. Their offensive woes almost cost them the game against a dinged up Steelers team and they only got it done after the Steelers had been out there for most of the second half.

If the Patriots can control the time of possession game, that should help to nullify the late game fatigue in the high altitudes. I hope Brady milks the clock longer than usual this game.
We won't be relying on time of possession to win this game.

What? 0-10% chance Really? Maybe if Brady and the whole offense and defense suddenly came up with the measles I would still put them at 20-30%.o_Oo_O

You seem to have the NFL won't do shady sh*t blinders on.

Newsflash. What did the officials do to the Pats last time in Denver? Did or did not the officials call numerous pro Broncos penalties and lack of pro Patriot penalties? In critical situations?

I saw Manning give himself up. I then saw him get up and comlete a big pass. The officials didn't see that or know what he was doing?
Yes, I agree. He clearly went down to avoid a sack, but wasn't touched; then, when he saw he had a play and didn't hear the whistle, he got up.

The official ruled that he had fallen and gotten up; that was incorrect, but not outrageously wrong. Unfortunately, it wasn't review-able or I think he would have been ruled down because he gave himself up.

Pittsburgh could have challenged it if he had been touched, but the replay clearly showed that the defender missed him by a centimeter or so. If Brady had gotten away with that, we'd be calling him brilliant.

He turtled. Tucked the ball with 2 arms and laid there.
It has zero to do with Denver. Peyton doesn't scare me. The team doesn't scare me.

Playing dirty scares me. Committing penalties on every play with zero flags scares me. You are right, Manning in the cold Next week is a hot mess. Which is why the non calls and hair pulling will be at an all time high next week. Numerous TVs will be broken.

That's what I'm "scared" of.

Great, he got flushed and fell to avoid a sack. Doesn't mean he gave himself up. There was no contact made by a defender and no one in the area by the time he got back up.

Sorry, I don't believe he gave himself up and at the end of the day, if your defense can't lay a finger on old man Manning when under pressure, you deserve that to happen to you. That's poor defense, plain and simple, not rigged officiating.

I find your lack of faith disturbing. I'm just going to leave it at that.

The Pats had a two score lead last game against a mobile QB who used his legs to make plays, and the Pats were missing Edleman, Amendola and Collins, no Gronk for the game's end and a rookie fielding punts.
You left out Hightower being knocked out of the game.

The Pats were DECIMATED by injuries and still had a two touchdown lead in the 4th quarter. And Manning is playing, who is done.

I'm actually disappointed in the board, you guys sound stupid. Pats roll. If you gamble, go ahead and make some money.

ok, back to a realistic post. reason I like our chances. are our matchups in this game. forget the fact that it is in denver but...our defense should have a much easier time scheming this offense than last week mainly due to alex smiths scrambling.

1. our front 7 can tee off on manning and the running game because there is no threat of the QB taking off or scrambling.

2. manning cant throw over 5 yards at this point. You double demarious thomas (and that shut him down last time) and put butler on sanders. Chung will shut down daniels.

3. Our receivers vs. their defense. Steelers receivers were open ALL DAY today. and historically, Edelman and amendola have shredded talib/harris. I expect the same. brady will spread them out and hit them with quick short passes.

4. with mannings lack of arm strength. You NEED to get up a couple of scores. that takes away their run game. and Manning CANNOT at this point win a shootout type game.

You seem to think I come from a team on team standpoint.

It's not. You have a hard time reading? It's about the NFL. It's about what THEY will do, not the Patriots. If you find that disturbing, I suggest you do some reading on a subject called Deflategate and tell me the current status of said situation? And who is pushing that situation?

The Steelers had one of the worst pass defense's in football this season and Manning was stuffed by them.

manning has done this many times...it was obvious he was sliding down to avoid the hit. That is giving yourself up.

Shady **** Like what? Calls go or don't go both ways at any given play/game.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories just facts.

My friend, the NFL is not going to go out there and blatantly rig a game, especially with the world watching.

I don't need to read anything on Deflategate, I lived through it on this board.

And the point remains, the refs making or not making a few calls will NOT be the difference between a win and a loss. They made bad calls last time these two teams faced and at the end of the day, the players and coaches lost the game.

You had a 14 point lead and decided to throw a rookie out there to catch punts and you decided to throw with a lead at game's end instead running to milk the clock. The refs did NOT cause the Pats to lose and they won't here.

You're foolish to think this game will be rigged WWE style.

It's a discretionary call.

He wasn't touched and there was no one within ten yards of him after he fell. The refs made the right call whether you like it or not.

There's no conspiracy here.

I would love the Pats chances on a neutral field, but (a) this is Denver and (b) there's no doubt in my mind that the fix will be in.

Pats D will need to play much better on third down than it did yesterday if the team is going to win.

people do realise that manning on two weeks rest still looked like cooked over garbage? right? and it was his first game this season he didnt throw a pick. and that was against a POOR pittsburgh pass defense. he is due for a couple next week.

If patriots offense continues to roll. Manning cannot win in a shootout. 4 field goals into the fourth quarter.

also, manning cannot scramble like alex smith...

The muffed punt opened the floodgates. When even Felger says you got hosed by the officials, what else is it than WWE? One mistake and it allows them to release the hounds. We shall see. All things even? Pats win by 20. Don't believe it will be.

Btw Tim Donaghy says hello.

But the muffed punt had ZERO to do with the refs, so you're contradicting your own point.

Belichick told Harper to field the punt. Harper muffed it. Denver clearly recovered it.

What does that have to do with the refs?

Nothing.

You quoting Felger explains it all.

I feel confident. Not enough to think it's a guarantee we'll be playing in Santa Clara but confident we'll bring our A game and let the chips fall where they may.
