2000 - No Brady, the Pats sucked that year with 5 wins
2001 - Fifth start of Brady's career
2014 - No Gronk, Talib goes out in the first quarter and never comes back
2015 - No Edelman, Hightower, Collins, Amendola, Gronk goes out in the fourth
There are reasons the Pats lost these games other than being in Denver.
While the poor performance in Denver has been a problem in the past, I wouldn't stack this Broncos team as a deserving #1 or #2 seed. Their offensive woes almost cost them the game against a dinged up Steelers team and they only got it done after the Steelers had been out there for most of the second half.
If the Patriots can control the time of possession game, that should help to nullify the late game fatigue in the high altitudes. I hope Brady milks the clock longer than usual this game.
If the Pats play like they did against the Chiefs with letting them get constant 3rd down conversions then it's going to be the same as 2013. If the Pats d shows up, the Pats will go to the SB again
The Broncos have a strong run game, we have had a weak run game. If the winds are close to 20mph again and the Denver defense shuts down Brady then we're in for a rough ride. But hell, it's the Pats, and I can't not take the Pats in the playoffs.
In that 2014 game, Brady had Edelman, but was throwing to Aaron Dobson, Austin Collie, Hooman, Matthew Mulligan (TE) and even threw attempted a pass to Slater.
No Vollmer, Wilfork, Mayo, Gronk and of course Talib left the game early too.
Coincidentally, the game this year involved a ton of injuries as well.
1 TD in 23 drives and it came off a fumble, they should force Manning to go over them like they did Smith, he can't do it. Brady is going to end his career. I love this match up.
Overall, I would say that Denver is kind of similar to Kansas City, except for the fact that Manning is a lot easier to defend than Alex Smith and Denver's secondary is a bit better. All in all, not a harder matchup. Traveling there makes it tougher, but if the Pats take care of their business, should be a win. 60-80%
Amazing how this is painted as Brady vs. Manning AFCCG, when Mr. HGH has close to zero to do with the fact the Broncos are even in the playoffs.... absolutely amazing.

When has wind ever affected Brady? When did Denver get a strong running game?
First, Brady throws darts. His passes are rarely if ever affected by wind.
Second, a strong wind favors the Pats because Manning throws ducks. In fact, many times the Pats have used windy games in Foxboro against Manning because it doesn't affect Brady, but it grounds Manning.
Third, the Broncos' running game is wildly inconsistent. They were 17th in rushing offense this year. And if there is a strong wind, the Pats can put 8 in the box to force Manning to throw.
