KC Fans Blow Their 15 Minutes of Fame

I think it's a matter of fan bases thinking their **** don't stink. I have to admit, I don't know if I could ever go to an NFL stadium and (openly) root for a visiting team. I don't care what stadium you're in, too many drunken idiots and it only takes one.

good luck to the chiefs in the future!

they might win the division next year as long as they don't start off 0-5 lol

Would we think it's fair to find our very worst fans and then judge the entire fanbase on them?

That's more than just a few cheering the injury. Completely classless fanbase.

Took my family to the Jets game in MetLife 3 weeks ago. sat in the 200's behind one of the goal posts. No problems. Just good natured ribbing.

Can't imagine ANY New England crowd ever doing that.

chiefs fans are douches in roughly the same proportion that patsfans are douches in roughly the same proportion that people in the world are douches.

Agreed. A couple years ago the Browns were at Gillette and a couple of s-faced Pats fans near me started heckling a family wearing Browns stuff. The family had a young son who was probably about 12 and clearly had special needs. The drunks were shouted down by other Pats fans but still, what the %#^*??

Every fan base has douches. Ours is no different. I credit the mods and the veteran members of this board for the high level of intercourse and accountability. Without such strong leadership, this board would also end up like just any other. Also it helps we're winning. Will be interesting to see how the post BB and TB era is like on here.

I imagine that there are lots of annoying fans in every fan base, and lots of good ones too.

Not every fan base is cut from the same cloth. An objective comparison of this message board with the Jets boards and the Chiefs board cited here bears that out. Patriots fan culture is a cut above most, and I'm not just being a blind homer saying that. I've traveled as a visiting fan to 14 NFL cities, seen quite a few fan boards. Do obnoxious Pats fans exist? Absolutely. But the overall differences can be quite distinct.

The fans in that thread are hilariously delusional

"Tom barely gets touched and it's roughing the passer"

LOL. Barely gets touched!? A 300+ lbs man launched himself at Brady long after he released the ball.

Both times Smith got drilled, both by Hightower I believe, he had his hand on Smith before he even released the ball, and the other time, he got his hands on Smith just before he stepped out of bounds, making it a no-flag for a late hit/shove.

Ah, thanks. I'll try to get my mind out of the gutter

I don't know why, but I had expected Chiefs fans to be a classier bunch.
KC is a cow town.

Its simple. They bought into the hype. The beat the Pats soundly last year, won 11 in a row, a playoff game by 30 on the road and had read the clippings of how banged up the Pats were.
And forgot that Andy Reid still has to spoon-feed Alex Smith and can't seem to grasp clock management.

We're on to Josh and Jimmy G! :)

When Andy Reid is your coach, you should just know to never get too confident.

For whatever reason, apparently these guys didn't realize that. Maybe they know now.

I only saw one KC fan at the game yesterday, which was surprising. Usually there are a few more fans from opposing teams these days, although I guess KC to Foxborough is not that easy a trip. He was sitting on the end of my row and lots of Pats fans were going up to him, shaking his hand and saying "good game," at the end. He was gracious in defeat.
Were you the Deb that WBZ had a short clip of right after the game?

I think the policies and moderating of the board has a lot more to do with the nature of fan boards than does the makeup of the fan base.

What a bunch of blind, hick yahoos:

Chiefs Screw the obnoxious patriot fans - ChiefsPlanet

Evidently NONE of the upset people remember this:

There are dumb and obnoxious fans everywhere including here in New England. I was at the game last night and Anthony Sherman (chiefs FB) entire family was attending the game at Gillette. Some Pats fan got up in their face and was telling them get to get out of the stadium. He ended up punching one of the cheifs family members in the face and started a 15 person brawl. Part of which sent a pregnant women flying down the isle stairs. Fortunately most of the other pats fans in the area helped defend them and the instigator got the worst of it by far and had a bloody face and broken nose by the time he was arrested... but it just goes to show, dumb fans are everywhere including here

Just looked it up and his lifetime playoff coaching record is 10-11. Not exactly Marvin Lewis territory but nothing to get excited about.

Perhaps, but that's an arbitrary assumption. Prior to the game, a Chiefs fan on the Chiefs board predicted Tom Brady would be "anally raped" by the Chiefs defense. Others chimed in with similar "sentiments." Is that necessarily a moderating issue? But as I said, my personal experience as a visiting fan in other stadiums pretty much has correlated with the "quality" of expression on their message boards. Some fan bases are excellent, Green Bay being a great example.
