OT: Taking the Patriots Train Tomorrow

Fellas,

Anyone here ever boarded the Patriots train from the Mansfield train station? I’d imagine that commuter lot will be packed by boarding time, and wanted to know how far in advance I should be at that lot to secure a parking spot.

Train leaves Mansfield t 2:30pm and arrives at Gillette at 3:05pm.

TIA

I've taken the train a few times at different stations but not at Mansfield. I wouldn't screw around. I'd get there at least 45 minutes early just to be on the safe side. I'd be sick if I missed the train and have to drive to Foxboro, get stuck in traffic and miss part of the game.

For future reference can you take the train from CT?

No way in hell I miss that train. I was more curious about the parking situation at Masfield.... Was hoping to hear how early I need to show up just to secure a parking spot at that commuter lot...

You could probably take a train from anywhere in CT along the cost, up to Providence and then hop on the Patriots train, which runs on game days only - it's a $15 round trip (regardless of what station you get on). The train shows up an hour and a half before game time, and leaves the stadium 30 minutes after the game is over, which is great if you want to avoid that 5hit show traffic situation on Rt. 1 after the game.

You can take the Amtrak to Providence and switch trains or just drive to TF Green airport and board the Pats MBTA train there...

I like the train, never liked the idea of 40,000 cars leaving a parking lot after the game and probably 20% of the drivers being impaired to one degree or another..

We used to pick up a sandwich and a beer, eat on the train.. no one seemed to care.

A few years ago I ran into my neighbor at the stadium and when I told him we took the train from South Station we agreed to do a time check to see who arrived home first. He drove straight home after the game while I had to drive home from SS after the train arrived there. We got home a full hour before my neighbor.
