Somehow THIS Doesn't Cheer Me Up Any

NFL—the multi-billion dollar company that preaches about integrity of the game and getting things right—somehow can't afford pylon or goal line cameras. It's truly laughable.

That was one of the most amazing plays I've ever seen. It would have been truly epic had that been a touchback.

I also wonder if Champ wishes he would've signed with the Patriots that offseason before the season. Because if I remember correctly, BB had pursued him during free agency and he even visited Foxborough. Had he signed with the Pats and not the Donkeys, he more than likely would've been the missing ingredient for the Pats Superbowl woes and he could really go by the name of Champ.

I will forever remember this play and where I was. At an airport waiting for my flight. Bad call. Well, hometown call.

I've always said I'd go to my grave believing that was a touchback, and if Champ Bailey himself admits to it, then there you go.

And Ben Watson still is playing. It's kind of sad he didn't last here.

It's nice to see Watson still playing. He was never been great, but if you can contribute as long as he has it's quite an accomplishment.

We're just focused on Saturday. Getting better every day as a team.

Less than 2 days from now the Patriots will hosting their first postseason game. That should cheer you up a bit.

I always liked Ben. I thought he could have been great. But he was just a good player who showed flashes of greatness in 2005/2006. Never became a star TE. I'm so used to ex-Pats leaving the team and fading quickly. Glad he is still playing and doing well though.

people never gonna stop crying about one thing or another even though the team has 4 rings

guys like normand leveille and reggie lewis collapsing in their prime still bugs me more

I kinda remember flashes in 09 and 10 also. You could argue he flashed this year as well. Some players are just like that though.

That's a nice narrative, but he was traded by Washington to Denver for Clinton Portis. Denver did not acquire him via free agency.

A game that also featured a call against us for "face guarding," a non-existent penalty...

Was that the same game, Deb, or are you thinking of the 2006 AFCCG loss at Indy?

In that game, Ellis Hobbs was incorrectly penalized for face guarding on a good play. As we know, the NFL issued a formal apology a few days after the game.

It's possible that it occurred in both.

That penalty call (2006 AFCCG) haunts me. That was a Lombardi, unless you think Rex Grossman coulda beat the Pats. And it gave the five head his only ring. Haunts me.

Absolutely.

I have it as my 2nd worst defeat in the BB/Brady era, although one can argue the 2011 SB.
