Sent ESPN Ombudsman Jim Brady an email, he replied

No one cares. Not even non pay fans. It's a non story about a non story.

If I was a betting man, I bet he gets more hits on the articles from patriot fans than non pat fans.

Ignore it and let it go. You'll be happier.

If he is working as an ombudsman, the only way he can be 'working on a story' is to be talking about how bspn covered that story. He can't be writing some new hit piece.

While he could theoretically come up with some whitewash story about how they weren't actually so far off; not sure how many anywhere would believe that anymore.

If he doesn't hit his own org hard for their bs, then I guess he is worried about the ombudsman position being vacant for another 24 months again.

This is ESPN we're talking about. They do whatever they want and have zero accountability for anything

They created a separate twitter for espn ombudsman months ago, and there hasn't been a tweet. Want to crush their hopes and dreams soooo bad.

This is all very confusing for me. I have one question.
Is the ombudsman a corrupt individual like the people of NYJFL* and BSPN* ?

His job as an Ombudsman is to write about how ESPN covered the story.

I'm not sure how anyone can view ESPN's treatment of Deflategate as anything but an embarrassment to the company.

Let's see what he writes. Ombudsman are usually empowered to criticize the company. In the past ESPN Ombudsman have indeed criticized the network for not covering the Patriots fairly (for example during CameraPlacementGate). As said above, I don't see how any reasonable person could conclude that ESPN has given them fair coverage this time around. There's a decent chance he writes something in our favor.

Of course, he is a Jets fan...

Just remember that he's not really an ombudsman, and that he's a Jets fan.

Could go a lot of ways. Could be him slamming his own network. "We suck, take it from Steve." Or it could be him writing a piece on how annoying and whiny Pats fans are. "Look at this Steve guy! Look at what a whiner he is!"

Don't know, but you're right not to trust him until we do know.

espn is working on another deflate gate piece? no kidding. i cant wait to read it

Wonder if he will in his deflategate article actually go off on ESPN for its coverage just to show he isn't biased. And try to say see I can let my fandom go.

How can he be working on a deflategate piece when it's obvious now, it was an invented farce?

Tells you all you need to know about this ombudsman.
Maybe he plans to say it was a farce. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
Just kidding!

I have so much hatred for Deflategate. Specifically, the loss of the pick. Could be a HTower or a Solder or a McCourty... instead it'll be Hue Jackson's next OL. Ugh.

Here's how I've come to cope with it:

It's been like, 8 years so we're due for a Brandon Meriweather pick. But instead we'll be funneling more of our resources than normal into guys who will be around in the early 60s and that will translate to us getting another Jamie Collins. ^_^

Good thing is, some stripper with DD's twirling tassles on top of the center couldn't distract this team now. They're immune.

They should probably have me hang around the locker room to look out for that sort of thing... you know, to keep it under control... :D

That's what I'm saying. He hasn't done anything yet in his role as Ombudsman. It could easily be about Mort and how everyone piled on the Patriots early before the facts were known, and contrasting that to Peyton recently. I'm always willing to give someone the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise. There was a previous Ombudsman that was very good and called out ESPN for biased coverage against New England a couple times. Bill Simmons had her on his podcast if I recall correctly.

That said, it is weird that he was named Ombudsman 3 months ago and hasn't written anything yet. In fact, if you Google "Jim Brady Ombudsman", this thread is the 7th result!!!

I sure it will be on how badly New England responded vs what Manning did while conveniently leaving out that the NFL refused to release any data to New England so they could even understand what they were accused of. If the NFL released the figures when this happened this story would have ended in a couple days instead they left Brady etc... twisting in the wind because the reality is if the balls were like 10 PSI, someone would have had to tamper them.

He's writing an article on how Woody and the Jets were unfairly treated during the tampering scandal in comparison to deflategate where the Pats were given a free ride of course...
