Report: Rams going back to L.A., Chargers likely to join them

I heard the corrupt owners were opposed to letting the raiders move to LA. Does anyone have any insight into why they were opposed?

The NFL owners still hates Al Davis even in death. Davis always wanted to return to LA and I think this is a posthumous FU.

Why not just keep the Rams in St Louis and move the Chargers to LA?

Stupid. Why is there a need for two teams in LA?

....well besides money and greed.
.......and now you get it. ;)

Guess it's fitting Rams return to their longtime home. Hope Chargers don't go though...

Why did they leave in the first place?

Honestly the Chargers were the one team that was a floundering mess. They should've moved, alone. They had zero fans and every home game was a home game for the opposing team.

At this point, the RIGHT solution, would be to move the Chargers to St. Louis.

Why make the Chargers the bastard red headed stepchild in LA? Clearly it's a Rams town and fine so be it, they've got them now. At least give the Chargers to a city that actually wants a team....

Now the Raiders, who cares. They could move to San Antonio tomorrow and I wouldn't blink an eye.

SD has supported the Chargers and the NFL for over 50 years. There team really did play in a bad stadium by NFL standards, but that's on the ownership demanding another boondoggle from a cash strapped city (as they all are.) This is a shame, but of all the teams moving they make the most sense and the least geographical disruption,

StLouis is an even worse screw job. This is another owner who demanded the city pay a significant portion of the cost to build a venue with more luxury boxes than Ed Jones dome currently had. Plain and simple.

Oakland actually has the worst stadium situation of the all and really needs a new place. But the fact is the league has no right to even suggest city or state aid (other than normal logistical they give every big private building project) If the league is looking for cash to build a stadium the owner should come up with the great majority of it, with the league adding the rest in loans. The league as a group has enough financial power to easily replace the taxpayer as a major source of stadium financing.

Bob Kraft showed the rest of the league how to build a stadium on his own dime, but we shouldn't expect the great majority of these billionaires to actually do something on their own. They don't believe in welfare.....unless it is for them.

That has got to be absolutely devastating to those fan bases... yikes

Chargers fans dearly want their team to stay in San Diego. They bailed this season because they knew ownership had its sights set on L.A.

On Netflix watch the doc on there by ice t on the Raiders

Davis bought a Huge lot in la and was gonna build a new stadium there. I forget what happened but I think the gist of it was they weren't gonna approve the deal unless Davis agreed to allow a second team in LA and he just left when the politics got too much.

LA accused him of lying and never really wanting to be there and using them for a better deal in Oakland.

Davis sued and won against the league so my money is on him being in the right

What could go wrong? They've shown they can support two teams in the past. LA fans are diehards.

Obviously LA fans aren't diehards. But I don't agree with the general perception around the Internet that LA couldn't support 2 teams and that's why the Rams and Raiders moved.

There has not been an NFL, MLB, or NBA franchise that moved in the last 50 years due to a market not being able to support them. Yes, this includes the Montreal Expos, which was a terrible sabotage by horrible owners. The issue has always been stadiums - more luxury boxes, and what city will pay the most for them, and what the lease terms are.

Over the last 20 years there have been 28 either new or fully refurbished stadiums in the NFL. Only two locales completely refused to put up money for them - LA and Massachusetts. Kraft eventually ditched the Hartford deal and stayed here. The LA owners didn't. It took 20 years because LA still refused to put up money even after the moves (unlike Cleveland, Baltimore, and St. Louis when they lost their franchises after holding out at first). Even now, no public money is going into this.

The Rams and Raiders had good attendance in LA until just before the end. The Rams had the double-whammy of 1) moving to a crappy Anaheim Stadium away from its fan base, and 2) the Black Widow inheriting the Rams and thinking Major League was an instruction manual on how to move a team.

Anyway, I feel bad for St. Louis residents - I hope in the future people won't call them 2-time losers who don't deserve another team. They supported the Rams quite well. It only ended the last few years when they've been consistently bad and had an owner who was clearly intent on moving the team.

i know some people and i have gone back and forth on stuff on this forum with some people...

But i am literally in tears over the news. Thinking about the memories of growing up with the STL Rams. Even went to the big parade downtown and the playoff game vs the Bucs that year in 99. Will never forget how happy my family was...... Even the loss to the Pats, still apart of the history of the STL rams.

I played and won state on the EJD turf. Love this city. It has always gotten crap from everyone else, and that is part of the charm. St. Louis against big rich cities, always the underdog. Screwed over time and time again by everyone. But you still want it to overcome it all...

I will never forgive the NFL for what it has done. I hope they are sued to death, i hope they lose tax exempt status. I want nothing to do with this corrupt league or this owner who cant even begin to understand the word betrayal. It wasnt just that the owner was screwing over STL, the entire league helped him screw over STL except for the Carolina Panthers and Miami owner.

Was fun meeting some of you guys on here. But im done. I cant do this crap anymore. I saw alot of people on here bash Kraft for Deflate gate response. At least you have never had your heart ripped out of your chest for money for some billionaire.

I feel like my entire city was bamboozled by a corrupt process while the NFL fed our leader false hope.

For me the Rams will always be the Los Angeles Rams....but leaving and then going back is like re-marrying your ex' wife. It's wrong on many levels.

F the NFL. I feel bad for the fans in San Diego. One of the original AFL teams. It's a travesty.

Hell yeah! Time for the totally rad LA Rams 80's music video!!

Rams vs Vikings was as good as it gets back in the old days.

Purple People Eaters vs Fearsome Foursome ... epic football.

Feel a bit bad for St, Lois but the Rams belong in LA as does the Raiders.

San Diego should have come in 3rd ... not Oakland.

I'm buying tickets for the New England Patriots v. St. Louis Jaguars game in 2030.

By the way, what are the expansion cities now other than Mexico City and London? Vancouver? Toronto? St. Louis? Portland? San Antonio? San Diego if the Chargers move?

Someone REALLY needs to send this video to Matthew Slater, and BB needs to play it at a team meeting.
