Re: the dispatch call at that heavy.com link (I haven't listened to it -- taking the alleged quotes from it at face value). Two interesting bits:
On fire dispatch recordings from the same time period, which you can listen to below, the dispatcher is asked to send the rescue to the front parking lot for an evaluation, “medical, uhh, mental.”

So it appears they were calling in someone to do a mental status or mental health eval?
“I got his keys off the table, I was able to lock the front door. If you want to just pass along to the fire, he was definitely involved with class D delta before this happened, just so they know.”

Anyone know what a "class D delta" is?

In any event, given the history of Chandler's brother, I don't think wondering/worrying if it is some kind of OD is unreasonable.

FWIW: Class D is coming up solely as marijuana in a few quick Google searches for class d and Massachusetts

Drug Possession of Class A, Class B, Class C and Class D Drugs in Massachusetts including cocaine, crack, speed, marijuana, heroin, oxycontin and pills

Class D is the drug classification for marijuana, etc.

'Delta' is radio code for 'D'. The officer likely said that to make it clear that he said 'Class D'.

Pretty much saying Jones was high as a kite on something.

    • Class A Substances: This category includes Heroin, GHB (and other “designer drugs,”) Morphine and Ketamine (otherwise referred to as “Special K”.)
    • Class B Substances: Cocaine, LSD, Ecstasy, Amphetamines (“Speed,”) PCP, Methamphetamines (“Meth,”) and prescription drugs such as Oxycodone (Percocet & Percodan.)
    • Class C Substances: These usually include prescription tranquilizers and narcotics such as Clonazepam, diazepam (Valium), Hydrocodone (Vicodin, Lorcet, Lortab;) but they also include mescaline, mushrooms (“psilocybin,”) and similar hallucinogenic drugs.
    • Class D Substances: This most commonly includes Marijuana and Phenobarbital.
    • Class E Substances: This covers prescription drugs containing lighter doses of codeine, morphine, or opiates.

Class D as has been stated is Marijuana and Phenobarbital. They likely stated "Delta" to make sure it was understood that they said "D" and not another letter that could sound like it (B, C, E) over a walkie talkie/cell phone etc... Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta...

There are 5 classes of drugs, A is the worst, E is prescription drugs, Narcotics are class B (cocaine, crack, LSD, oxycodone, oxycontin, ecstacy, hydrochloride, amphetamine, methamphetamine)

Well, given the apparent request for a mental status check and the class D reference, I'm thinking a narcotics OD is looking sadly more and more likely.

There are a lot of posters on this board with a 60" vertical, because I can't believe the amount of jumping to conclusions that's going on. "looks to be recreational drugs.." Really? Based on what?

Yes, I realize many are joking, but there are many here that don't appear to be. Reminds me of what Francona said to Felger on the air "Don't let your lack of information keep you from having an opinion." (Paraphrased).

I hope he's alright, physically and mentally. If he's been at practice, he's probably okay physically.

Did Francona really say that? That is a great quote.

Just hope Jones is OK. Sucks having all that thrown all over the news. Probably terrifying for him no matter what the source.

I am going to say it sounds like he had an Ambien or similar psychotic event.
Like I said earlier he was probably having trouble sleeping due to pain medication withdrawal.

OD-Gate! Championship!
