3 plays later, still no mentioning of it..........

Still remember after the Steelers game in September, Breer tweeted that he talked to people around the league and this sort of thing happens "only in New England." Seems not to be the case.

Within hours of opening night, it was listed here and elsewhere that it is a common occurrence in just about every stadium.

NBC and ESPN however continue to make sell the whole 'Belichick manipulates this' angle and cover up whenever it happens elsewhere.

You watch, after this misstep, Tafoya will be working elsewhere next season.

doesn't fit into their anti NE agenda

wonder if collinsworthless asked peterson to " look into my eye "...wait, peterson would kill him if he said that!:D

It's all about narrative, I think that if an issue had happened 3 weeks ago then it would never have been mentioned

"Objective" sports reporting has pretty much taken a bye in professional sports..

Cannot stand Collinsworth and his everpresent snobbery..

Remember the first game of this season?

Effing hypocrits.
I was telling my wife the same thing when that happened. I went off on one of my mini rants about the hypocrisy. This headset issue has happened in quite a few games with no mention of Tomlin breaking the rules by accusing the Pats of cheating. And that's just the games we are aware of.

No couple week long media-hyped conspiracy theory articles to peruse?

The rest of the country will be drooling with anticipation for one after we knock off the Chiefs. There HAS to be cheating involved if that happens. KC is invincible now after winning 11 in a row.

There'll be stories loaded with baseless innuendo. Bank it.

I think we're quick to assume it's bias when it could really just be good ol' incompetence. Michaels and Collinsworth are too self-absorbed to bother listening to what anyone else has to say.

Or that SI story that accused the Patriots of warm drinks and whatnot. There was a part about how BB must have people at the airports watching teams arrive so he knows who is classified as "out" the night before. Except for the fact that traveling teams must report non-travelers automatically as "out" to the league the night before. A simple routine procedure, yet national writers (don't call them journalists, they're not) don't know about it, twist it into something sinister, when really, it's their own incompetence and ignorance.

It's incredible how low the bar is to cover major sports on a national level. Actually, the bar has to be low to trip any competent people from participating, so only the snakes and lowlifes can slither under it.

****, sportswriters hardly even need to be literate. The low bar also contributes to them not needing to issue corrections or take responsibility for their ********. If the NFL were covered by real journalists who reported on Tomlin's outrage on opening night, they would have brought that up and noted that sometimes **** happens, especially if it is cold and that perhaps there should be some allowance for the headphone issues on opening night, because **** also happens on opening night.

I don't really think there is a story here. Headset issues are prevalent in the league. I know we're very sensitive around these parts (and rightfully so) and want the media to jump on everything, but there is also a part of me that says we have to pick and choose our battles. Not everything is worth saying something about. Personally, I'd rather much more focus on Manning and the HGH than some dumb headsets going out. That's just not a story to me.

Headset/communication issues are impossible unless they happen at Gillette... Mike Tomlin says so.

Did you watch the first game of the season???????

They certainly listened to Tafoya's sideline report THAT night.

No. It's not incompetence. It's BIAS.

And they are not alone. I have not seen ONE other media outlet make any mention of Tafoya's sideline report.

Note: This was a FREAKING PLAYOFF GAME.

It's probably because they think Cincinnati is too incompetent to do it themselves,;)

It's best to laugh this crap off, it's not like the media is going to stop twisting things to make the Pats look bad.

There isn't. The "It only happens in N.E." argument was debunked, by the media, by about week 2, Tomlin was made to look the fool when the problem happened in Pittsburgh and it came out that it had happened there in the past as well, and it was made clear very early on that this was going to happen all season long, and that it would take place in multiple venues, because the underlying issue was the system itself.

I still remember Collinsworth said 'a lot of stuff going on here'. I hope no one in patriots organization talks to him ever.
