On to Kansas City

It basically comes down to this. If the Patriots Oline shows up and gives Brady time, we will win. If they don't and Brady is on his back most of the game then we are one and done. We are facing Houston and Hali who are great pass rushers.
i don't think it's as black and white as that, though. if they don't have maclin, you don't think we'd have a chance in a defensive struggle. i believe in this defense. even more than last year's, tbh. i think we can win an ugly battle to survive another week. we only have to win 3 of them...

This is the team that pummeled us and made us a laughing stock. Let's return the favor this time

And elicited headlines such as "Embarrassing MNF blowout loss......sounds death knell for Patriot dynasty" :)

By the time they play the game this Saturday, Justin Houston will have hyper extended his knee almost 2 months ago.

He didn't look good last week at all. Looked like he either re-injured it or hurt something else along with it.

He missed a couple/few plays and returned. Hopefully, it's a lingering issue that keeps him at 75 percent, or something in that range.

Then again, the way our OL has been playing, you could have Houston play at 10 percent and be productive. Having Hali on the other side will certainly keep their hands full, as will Poe in the middle.

I look at it this way. The bye week was their first true teaching week since week 4. Lots of corrections will be seen and if Edelman is 80 percent in sync the the pass rush will be an afterthought. Gronk I imagine will be borderline 100 percent as will Amendola. Factor in James White and it should be off to the races.

Don't you guys find it a little funny that this team is the reason we say "On to ____" ?

It was actually San Diego, 2007, right after the Jest vomited Spygate unto America.

That was a crazy week. The story (and infraction) occurred on Sunday afternoon, and within 48-72 hrs there were so many unfounded accusations like the Walsh issue, etc.

Belichick's contract was extended that week. The team rallied around each other, and they went out and kicked SD's asses. That is exactly, 100 percent, without a doubt, the same kind of game that we need on Saturday; for if so, it has the potential to completely turn everything around. They have the chance to regain momentum heading into the AFCCG and can look like a totally different team.

I wish I could like and agree! I choose Winner

Offense: Finally with Jules, DA, Gronk, White, LaFell, Martin available to play -- and with SJ an actual feature RB -- the Patriots' offense needs just a marginally satisfactory OL performance to do enough/more than their share to move onto the AFCCG.
++The reason why KC's defense will keep the Patriots' O from doing their part to move onto the AFCCG? Only one thing but it is a BFD: Poor OL performance.

Defense: Finally our premier LB duo will be together/relatively healthy. Also our top tier secondary should also be together/relatively healthy. This comes down to the Patriots' D line putting in just a semi satisfactory level in stopping the run. This will force a midling KC O to have to do what they don't historically well, pass to win.
++The reason why KC's O will keep the Patriots' D from doing their part to move onto the AFCCG? KC's OL too often dominates the Patriot DL. KC is able to run the ball to allow them to play their game.

Bottom Line: If our OL plays semi satisfactorily and our DL stops the run semi satisfactorily, 80% chance we win. If the one of the lines plays poorly (OL or DL), it is a bit better than 50/50 chance. If both lines play sub par then it is definitely less than 50/50. It will likely be a Giants or Jets type game where our only chance will be a last possession drive or stop to eke out the win. Side note: if the lines put in better than average play over these next 2 games? Feel safe in choosing the cheaper non refundable travel plans for Santa Clara....

I have a feeling the Pats are treating this as a redemption game:

1. payback for last year's embarrassment at KC
2. the poor performance they've been putting up the last few weeks.

I have a feeling they will play on fire like they played last year against the Bengals after they got their asses kicked at KC.

The Steelers will either come into Denver feeling invincible after last night's mess or they will be as flat as pancakes. Also, a lot will depend on how Big Ben's shoulder progresses over the next few days. This is exactly the kind of game that Peyton has made a career out of losing.

His shoulder is fine.

Good to know. I didn't realize that he hyperextended his knee.

He and Hali are both banged up. Hali only played 15 snaps last week.

Dontari Poe is legit, however.

kc without maclin is a much better match up than cinn with dalton...pats win by 10+

If this team cannot beat the eagles, jets and dolphins i don't see them beating KC who is the hottest team in the nfl right now.

They beat the Jets and Dolphins this year. Derp.

That and we don't have to worry about Burfict taking out Amendola or Jules with a helmet to helmet hit

Can anyone explain why this wasn't a penalty?
