Chiefs are the 2nd or 3rd best defense in the NFL. Don't think we are just going to walk all over them come next weekend.

their offense is as bad as their defense is good

their defense is statistically similar to the pats even though the pats played against better QB's

Oh boy, stay off the chiefs forum. They make indy fans look knowledgeable. You'd think they'd try and tone down some of the expectations especially after losing the only player who would demand a little respect from Belichick. Instead its the same type of chest beating and bravado that ends with the fans looking for a regime change after realizing they haven't accomplished a thing.

Agreed. I also think that while it seems obvious that Maclin won't play, we shouldn't be making assumptions yet. He was reported to be limping a bit, but didn't need the aid of crutches after the game. After seeing Philip Rivers practice all week then come here and put up a good fight on a torn ACL, I'll feel better when I know for sure that Maclin is out.

Not meaning to sound like a douche as I take one step closer to hell for this comment, but the fact that he was crying would seem to point to them feeling as though it was the type of injury that should keep a player out of the next game, at the very, very least.

Rivers is a QB. Apples to...I don't even know what. If it's an MCL strain a al Hightower it's not good in one week. If it is and he's normal I'd be having him pee in a cup. Point is he has a knee injury. One week will never be enough time to heal it to the point that he can be effective.

It is their first playoff win since 1923...

:D

Especially for a skill position player like a WR or a RB.

I don't see Maclin playing, and if he does its probably as a decoy

The Patriots can certainly pull out a win with a good gameplan, and Belichick is well obviously capable of that.

With that out of the way, the Chiefs front 7 is going to maul Brady if they can't figure out a strong quick passing game to neutralize the rush.

Even though Peyton is done, I don't like the idea of him being well rested enough to have one more decent game left in him. Glad we don't have to take that chance. The pats are still good but they are a broken down shell of their former selves. We got this.

do you guys think we even have a chance? Andy Reid and Alex Smith coming to town with all that playoff mystique and those HOF resumes. Not to mention they are the defending superbowl champs and getting healthy after a resting guys over the last few weeks.

I think that this is a game where the Patriots can win it or lose it. The quality of the opponent doesn't come into play. The health of the Pats does, but I *think* we are actually better on that front than people (outside the Pats fan base) think. I think the deciding determinant is whether the Pats play up to the potential of the cats on the field, if that makes sense. This is a team that *can* beat the chiefs, and be "a different team" in the playoffs. Will they? That's why they play the games.

As a life-long worrier though, I am very much hoping that Tom is right for this game.

Because I am always wrong, I am predicting that the Chiefs will beat the crap out of us next weekend, thereby ensuring a lopsided Pats victory.

I'll be over there this week to revel in their stupidity

I'll join you but theres a 2% chance I make it through the week without getting banned.

The mental gymnastics are the best part: apparently were cheaters because of spygate deflategate and headsetgate but the refs still favor us. On top of the illegal advantages and favoritism thats given us all the success they still want to come up here and play us because of last October's monday night game.

Incredible stuff

thanks for the quotes from the chiefs board. such an ignorant bunch.
will read their board after we defeat them soundly.

do they realize that theyre playing against the heavyweight champs???

So for KC's offense, what weapons do they have that we need to worry about? Kelce? I guess they have a good running game right? But they don't have any wide receivers.
I'm also curious as to what our offensive gameplan will be against their D.

Brady, up the middle, 2 yards and a cloud of dust, 60 times. :)

All fan forums are similar. This one included ,after a win which we do a lot. We are always invincible and any loss means the coaches have lost it or QB has lost it .

McCain's injury is devastating for the Chiefs. I was worried about playing them up until he went out. Now it's time for someone else to be served up some bad luck.

Their DC is a Rex Ryan disciple, so look at the bills tape , thats what pats will do. Buffalo defense with better corners and lot of pressure and multiple looks. Will be close game like the bills game on MNF.
In the end their main ammo is turnovers. We avoid turnovers we should be okay.

Stop the run and make Alex beat you.

Patriots has had problems with stopping the run (especially the outside run). They need to step up.
