It's moving to NY because people (kfc and kmarko who already live in NY) refused to move to Boston and Chernin wants them to be under one roof.

Portnoy is also adamant that he is still in control of content and that was one of the big factors of him doing the deal.

Making a deal to grow Barstool isn't selling out. Selling out would have been selling 100%.

Doesn't matter. You are the big shot. Nothing good ever comes out of NYC. They are toast. Look what happened to some key figures at Facebook when they got funding. Portnoy will be ushered out sooner than later no matter if he has supposed 100 percent editorial control. Big, big mistake.

he's had chances to cash in before and didn't. he jumped now because he still has control over the content. he wouldn't do it if the site was getting watered down. this is coming from a huge stoolie (seems like the only one on the site), but I still believe him. i do hate the idea of them all being in the same place tbh and i hope they don't lose too many of the writers because of the move, though.

From what Portnoy said on his periscope Q&A seems like all the regular bloggers are making the move to NY, except for one which is Trent but apparently he will still be working for Barstool. The Boston sports team guys Carrabis (Sox) and Rear Admiral (Bruins) are staying on and I believe will have bigger roles.
