Howe: Patriots 2016 Opponents

Speaking of facing Cleveland:

#Browns Justin Gilbert admitted he "missed a ton of meetings last year." Why? "hard sleeper". nothing deeper than that? "no"

It doesn't seem right that we have to go to Mile High again. You know the league/elway made sure of that.

Did Brady and Belichick make sure the Pats hosted Denver in 12,13 and 14?

Just be aware Pats are playing in Denver again in 2017.

sorry, but a team that converts 30% on third down (as the Pats have since Edelman got hurt) and gives up 350 yards to guys like Ryan Tannehill, is going to have a hard time winning in this league.

We all hope this gets better for the playoffs and next season, but lets not forget the 3 main offensive weapons this season - Lewis, Edelman, and Gronkowski all have considerable injury histories so we shouldn't be surprised if one, two, or all three are out at some point in the coming seasons.

But do you reaaaaallly? :rolleyes:

Are you ignoring relaity? lewis, edelman, and gronkowski have lengthy injury histories. Without them the patriots have failed to move the ball against some pretty bad teams, are 30% on third downs, and averaging maybe 20 points a game since edelman went down.

Just because I'm (or anyone else who was pissed yesterday) angry and get fired up when the team sucks, doesn't mean we don't want the team to win. Most of us got just as fired up during the ball deflation garbage...

Pats' 2016 opponents...
Home: BUF, NYJ, MIA, BAL, CIN, HOU, SEA, STL
Road: BUF, NYJ, MIA, PIT, CLE, DEN, ARI, SF

Pitt, Denver and Arizona all on the road... jesus.

Baltimore will rebound and be a solid team again as well.. that's a tough schedule....

Games they could lose:
@nyj
@bills
Baltimore
Cincinnati
Seattle
@Pittsburgh
@Denver
@Arizona

It WILL be at Foxboro. It's a rotating schedule. Last time we played the NFCW, we went to Seattle and Rams (London), and played AZ and SF at home. Next year, we'll be playing SEA & STL @ home, and SF/AZ on the road.

I think the point is that long distance would rather play someone else in the SB.

Could be the Parcells/Belichick coaching tree tour - Mangini in SF, Patricia in Cleveland, O'Brien in Houston, McDaniels in Miami plus old friend Pete Carroll in Seattle.

That's a brutal schedule. 13-3.

Damn that looks tough. Alot can change though, and perhaps well have better luck with reg season injuries.

No I am not ignoring reality.

The fact that you use an unpredictable aspect of the game, like players injury history, for the crutch of your "7-9 in 2016" argument, is the turd cherry on top of the proverbial cake of cynicism which you routinely gorge on post after post.

Most posters here are panicking because the team has played inconsistent to poor football over the last quarter of the season, which I get, since it is in there here and now.

Your post about 2016 was rather ridiculous and therefore I called you out on it because it shows a very poor general understanding of the game.

Tough schedule.

Playing like they have since thanksgiving that's a 7-9 schedule....

Yep, they will be missing all the same players. What a .douche.

I guess you don't get to play the AFC South and the NFC East every year.

12-4
4-2 in the AFCE
2 road losses

And despite being 12-4 we'll have some whiny ass *****es crying and moaning like we do right now. Funny how these guys are never around when things are going well. Must be a real treat to know them in real life. :rolleyes:

As an out of town fan, I'm excited to have the opportunity to go to 2 away games (Pittsburgh, Cleveland). It's been 6 yrs since it lined up that way.

oh how cute, an "i dont care, i cant stand it" cry post. What have the pats accomplished lately anyway? Its been like what 11 months since they won the super bowl

Rough schedule, Arizona, Pittsburgh and Denver. Plus Seattle and Ravens at home!

Hardest schedule I have seen for quite sometime.

Hmmmmmm, I wonder which game Kraft will convince someone to play in London?
As one of the leaders of that Europe expansion strategy, Kraft will almost surely play one there, hopefully not a homegame.

Be good if it were ARI or DEN. SF or PIT good alternates.

The league doesn't decide who plays who or where. It only controls when.

And as I've noted elsewhere here, it's because the NFL refuses to change the scheduling formula, so the AFC and NFC East are always on this three home, three away schedule for the 1 v. 1 games.

Please explain what is wrong with the formula or different for East from the other 3 divs? I dont get your point.

As I Understand: 8 divs. Each team plays own div 2x (6 gm), 1 entire div from both AFC/NFC (8 gms), and then the other 2 matching finishing positions from within their conference (2 gms). Within each of those three categories the home-away is evenly split and same method for AFCE, AFCN, AFCS as AFCW.
