Amendola's Neighbors Are Mad at Him

The article says it's coming down in Feb. Does that mean Amendola is planning on leaving the Patriots?

Probably just leaving the frigid new england winter to somewhere nice and warm

Hopefully Danny takes a discount next year so he can stay and annoy his neighbors for years to come.

Sorry, I'm a "it's my property and I'll do with it as I choose" type of guy. Pay my taxes and mortgage, I'll abide by your rules!

I'll agree, there are things needed to be respectable to your neighbors, but I like my comforts and conveniences too!
The problem is people disagree on what is reasonable and respectable.

I moved into a community neighborhood with various rules. A colleague said "doesn't it bother you not having control of your own property?" I replied no because I did my due diligence before moving in to make sure there wasn't anything I wanted to do which I am forbidden to do, plus I have the added benefit of having some control over what my neighbors do with their property.

If Danny was smart he would take it down. I have been a police officer for a long time and the one call that never ever goes away is the neighbor dispute. Its just the start of it Danny and it will only get worse trust me. I have been to some of the same houses dozens and dozens of times for some of the most stupidest crap.

The news paper article was the first warning shot. Now they will call the police for every thing under the sun and they are the most trumped up stories you have ever heard. 2 people over his house will be called in as 20.

Yeah, I believe being able to have a car port is a stipulation of his contract.
Hey they write weird things into contracts all the time. I believe there is even a green M&M stipulation!

It's more likely he's moving to your neighborhood (or one of the other "anything goes" neighborhoods of the folks here) to enjoy his carport in peace! ;)

So he's trying to avoid the physical exertion necessary to get to the stadium? Sounds like a member of the Patriots organization is trying to gain a competitive advantage by breaking the rules. During the playoffs? uh-oh

I hope for Danny's sake, he moving into a much posher neighborhood than mine! :D

Anyone else sniffed this out? o_O

A contractor working on a property next to the house said Monday that the carport “probably shouldn’t be there,” but that he heard it was “coming down in February” — which neighbors confirmed in an email chain obtained by GoLocal.

Looks like Dola is counting on staying up here until he returns from Santa Clara...

You know he's got about 60 huge football player friends, right?

Just Gronk's immediate family would be enough for me to waive any annoying stipulations.

Paint it purple? Sure, I could see how that would be nice, Mr. Gronkowski. Mind if I slip my head out from your arm?

More likely he has a one-year lease that expires before next season. Probably will move before training camp. Hopefully a local move.

This is the root of the problem.

Why? If they don't like it, they shouldn't have moved in to a neighborhood where them's the rules.

I have no more control over them than they do over me. I was just smart enough to do due diligence prior to moving to make sure I was cool with all the rules I knew I would have to conform to.

After walking through parts of Germany where the buildings have dates on them like 1327, and people just live in them like normal and drive by on the 1,000 year old cobblestone streets you realize how silly saving 150-200 year old buildings in the US really is. That is new construction.

At least those European buildings were built of stone. A lot of them actually have history too. It's like a historic castle where a King lived, over here it's a historic 3 bedroom house where the Johnson's lived. Who really cares.

Much of the US historic junk is just old pine boards nailed together that would have fallen down if somebody weren't maintaining the termites and mold constantly. Many weren't built to last.
