i refuse to believe that the hoodie will get outcoached by hacks like kubiak and marvin lewis. i'll believe it when i see it!

Would you say that Belichick got outcoached by Kubiak earlier in the year when we went there and lost? I wouldn't. There are many variables that determine a football game, and the head coaching is only one of them. We can't simply look at one area of advantage without also looking at the disadvantages, just the same.

There are also other HCs who have proven track records such as Tomlin and Reid, and that's just in the AFC. Carroll, McCarthy, Arians, etc are all worthy contenders in the NFC.

I never look in the game threads

Although we're on a fan board, your skepticism is understood, and ultimately you may be proven right. We tend to go through the same thing just about every season in terms of thinking that it's our God given right to go to the SB, that this year's defense is better than the season before, that we'll be able to win without needing to run the ball, etc.

The unfortunate truth is that we obviously don't make it in most years, but the fact that the organization and players puts us fans in such a great position where we have a decent shot every year is amazing. Look no further than Brady's record taking us to the AFCCG for proof that the Pats are always in the thick of it. Nothing in the past matters now--nor would it if they went 16-0. They need to get their **** together and come out and play solid "Patriot football" for the next 2 games, then we'll see where we stand.

This is classic rope-a-dope by the Pats. They will roll to SB title with ease. This will be the dominant title run we have been waiting for.

Hope you're right, but I don't remember watching any old footage of Ali getting lit up like a Christmas tree "on purpose." The gameplan these past 2 weeks was to use the players who were available, try and get the running game going (as usual), iron out some of the protection issues on the OL, and utilize the weapons that were available in the passing game. None of those worked...at all.

They didn't have their top 2 star players in Brady/Gronk playing both games just because they were simply toying with their opponent. They didn't risk bringing back injured players like Amendola and McCourty too soon because they wanted to play it like a preseason game. The truth of the matter is that there are current issues that need to be fixed if the team is going to make a serious run. Hopefully, some of those issues start with the return to health from certain players.

I just want Denver to go 1 and done. That alone would make this postseason a success in my book. Ughh if only the Bengals didn't choke away that lead against Denver. Denver would be playing this week, and without any time to rest Manning would be a disaster. And even if he managed to somehow pull it together and win then its just even more likely he would then collapse in the divisional round.

We will repeat because we have the best coaching staff in sports and got our key players back just in time for the only games that matter.

If those players are somewhat able to play even on their average level then we will have the best offense in the AFC in addition to a very good defense with exceptional individual players.

I, for one, remain optimistic, primarily because this team is focused, talented and TOUGH. And for the first time since week FOUR, we have some quality time to heal up, re-evaluate, and re-group.

The defense will be awesome in the playoffs, as long as Patricia calls for pressure early and often.

The offensive line needs to click enough to give Brady another second or two.

With heavy doses of Edleman, Amendola, White, and even Jackson in the short passing game, Brady will be able to target Gronk in space lots more. This will make LaFell and Martin more effective as well.

This team believes in itself! It has been through a grueling, injury-prone season and survived quite well.

The Pats will be the best prepared team in the post season AS IT ALWAYS IS!

If I were any other team, I would NOT want to face New England!

You Will Suffer Humiliation When The Sports Team From My Area Defeats The Sports Team From Your Area

As you can see from the calendar, the game is coming up this weekend. I'm sure you are as excited for it as I am, as our cities are rivals and have been for quite some time. Your confidence in your team is high, but rest assured, you will suffer humiliation when the sports team from my area defeats the sports team from your area.

On numerous occasions, you have expressed the conviction that your area's sports team will be victorious. I must admit that every time I hear you make this proclamation, I react with both laughter and disbelief. "Ha!" I say to myself with laughter. "What?!" I say to myself in disbelief. How could you believe that your sports team could beat my sports team? It is clear that yours is inferior in every way.

When the sporting contest begins, the players on your team will be treated as though they are inconsequential. It will be remarkably easy for my team to accumulate more points than yours. There are many reasons for this, starting with the inferior physical attributes of the players representing your area. Strength, speed, and agility are just three of the qualities that the players on the team from your area lack. The players representing my area, on the other hand, have these traits in abundance.

I would not be a bit surprised if the individuals on the team from your area were sexually attracted to members of their own gender. That is how ineffective they are on the field of battle.

Underscoring your team's inferiority is its choice of colors. It is ludicrous to believe that your team's colors inspire either respect or fear. Instead, they appear to have been chosen by someone who is colorblind or, perhaps, bereft of sight altogether. The colors for my team, on the other hand, are aesthetically pleasing when placed in proximity to one another. They are a superior color combination in every way.

While we are on the subject of aesthetics, let us compare the respective facilities in which our teams play. While my team's edifice is blessed with architectural splendor and the most modern of amenities, yours is a thoroughly unpleasant place in which to watch a sporting contest. I know of what I speak, for I once attended a game between our respective teams in your facility. Let's just say the experience left me wishing that my car was inoperable that day due to mechanical problems, rendering it impossible for me to get to your area to attend the game.

If you need another reason why the sporting franchise representing my area is superior, look no further than the supporters for the two sides. Not only are the supporters of the team from my region more spirited, but they are also more intelligent and of finer breeding than you and the rest of your ilk. In addition, the female supporters of the team from my area possess more attractive countenances and figures than yours. Some of the women from my side that I have observed could make a living by posing for pictures for major men's magazines. The women who cheer for your team, I'm afraid, are far too unattractive to do so.

One of the more pathetic aspects of the team from your area is the fact that only people in your immediate area possess an affinity for it. By means of contrast, the team from my area inspires loyalty and affection in individuals who live in many other geographic locations.

To illustrate this point, let me tell a brief story: Recently, I was on vacation in an area of the country far away from my own, and I saw many individuals wearing items of clothing that bore the insignia of my team. I approached one such individual and asked him if he originated from my area. He said no, explaining that he simply liked the team from my area and had for many years. Interestingly enough, during this trip, I saw no clothing or other paraphernalia bearing the insignia of your team.

Do you still doubt that the team from your area is inferior to the one from mine? Just look at our teams' respective histories. In the past, we have defeated you on any number of occasions. Granted, there were times when your team beat my team, but those were lucky flukes.

The day of the game will soon be at hand. And no matter how hard you pray to a higher power or how many foam accoutrements you wear in support of the team from your area, your team will be defeated. We will win and you will lose. This is your fate.

Prepare for humiliation. It shall be upon you at the designated hour.

We need to find out if Vollmer can play. If we can do we replace Cannon with Waddle or with Fleming?
How bad is Stork playing? Does he need to be benched? I think Kline needs to start, and we need to figure out who the other G is going to be.

Anyone know what the Pats have in Waddle? It looks like he wasn't good enough to be on the Lions and now he's the Pat's best hope as a starter?

Although I guess historically we've seen BB do more with less.

I'm still a bit amused by the name, "Waddle", for a lineman. I've added him to my list alongside Rich Incognito, and Ha-Ha-Clinton-Dix. Note that Incognito is no longer incognito!

Why do the Pats repeat? Cause likely no AFC team can stop them and while their SB opponent will be tough aren't the Pats do for their opponent in the SB to have a let down game and plays not go their way?

I think you guys are going to be surprised at the team the Pats field in two weeks. It's not going to look like anything from the last month of the season. Edelman alone being back opens up so much more on the field. Having he and Amendola together will bring the quick passing game back to near where it was at the beginning of the season. I also think they'll get White more involved on third down in the postseason as well. Defensively, just getting bodies back somewhat rested where they have been able to lick their wounds will do wonders. McCourty will have had another few weeks to rest his ankle and Hightower will be fresher as well.

This offense needs alot of practice to get back to the same level of execution we saw earlier this season. We havent seen that in a good 6 weeks or so...

Im skeptical we can just flip a switch and all of a sudden be back to that but I have faith.

F'ing nice to see a thread around here with an optimistic opinion, keep this coming!!!

And add the improved offense + improved defense and you get excellent complementary football. Means better starting field position or more opportunities for offense of best rested defense...

I like it.

Back peddling wont work.

Best to just admit that youre wrong again and move on.
Not backpedalling at all.
Giving an assessment not regurgitating someone numbers that don't mean what you think they mean.
Many hear seem to agree with me.

Thank you. I find it bizarre how there's so much lip service paid to injuries and then confusion about poor play. "Next man up" doesn't cover injuries to both starting safeties, top LBs, defensive ends, running backs, wide receivers, and offensive linemen. My god.

They're coming back (and Oline play depends on a cohesive whole). Can they turn it around just like that?

Yep.

Also... Everyone seems convinced we will be playing KC.

I fully expect to see Houston or Cincinnati.
