This is why we repeat

A photo of Goodell in the locker room and weight room and corridors should help the repeat.
Or perhaps Goodell in a compromising position to keep the refs balanced :D.

team is mediocre to completely sucky for 2 months now. I hope they can turn it on a dime but I am doubting it. HFA was necessary for this team this year. If Denver loses in Divisional it won't matter.
Folks, this is what happens when people re-read game day threads from beginning to end :p.

I like the positivism of this thread. It's nice to be reminded the Pats CAN still repeat as champs.

All good reasons. If Edleman is healthy, the ball will be coming out of Brady's hand really quick. It will also allow us to play in the hurry up to tire the Defensive personnel on the field. Slows the Pass rush. Vollmer and Kline will help some.

All depends on the ol, Edelman, and brady's mobility in the pocket which I hope is not going to be an issue.

If they get back to at least close to where they were before the 2nd quarter of nyg, nobody is beating us. The defense is just the cherry on top.

This team has been holding back, treading water. Do they know something we don't know?

I don't think the team we saw the last few weeks is the team we see 2 weeks from now. With the health of the team the play calling has been very conservative. Brady will not open the next game with only 5 first half passes. I expect the offense to open up more, some 5 wide, game planning for Gronk to get more involved, and some hurry up. The big question mark is the line, but I have faith they will be better then they've been down the stretch. Getting Volmer back will help.

This year is interesting. There is no team out there that I don't think the Pats can't beat. All the teams have flaws, even the 15-1 Panthers are not a team that will be feared. That being said, this version of the Pats are flawed also and I don't think teams are going to fear playing us. Should be an exciting playoffs!

I don't have the same feeling I did earlier in the year when I thought no one could beat us, but I believe we are truly capable of beating every team in this league if our players actually are healthy when they come back

You do know that the SB is being playing in California right?

Kline played against Miami (and not particularly well).

Unfortunately many of them are coming back in training camp. 17 players on IR/PUP. Can they still overcome all that? Possibly, but the likely opponents have had better luck. Broncos have a grand total of six on IR. The only team that appears to have been hit as hard is Pittsburgh and they have been playing good football of late.

i don't think we need to be as good as the week 7 patriots to win it all. i know it hurts to lose lewis, easley, and solder. but i think this team with the pieces we're hoping come back to perform like they can is capable of winning it all

Disagree

KC will beat Houston and then head to NE. KC has a very good defense, mobile QB and run game, underrated TE in Kelce and decent receiving corp. Their Kicker is liability.

True.

But guess who has just as bad game management as Rex Ryan?

This is classic rope-a-dope by the Pats. They will roll to SB title with ease. This will be the dominant title run we have been waiting for.

It's amazing how often in the playoffs it comes down to the better coaching and the better QBing. As far as the AFC goes, we have the lead in each of those categories by a longshot.

i refuse to believe that the hoodie will get outcoached by hacks like kubiak and marvin lewis. i'll believe it when i see it!

KC is a flawed team. Their offense is weak.

Aside from needing to contain Smith/keep him from scrambling, as well as stopping the run (obviously), the 2 real options that need to be taken away are Maclin (double him), and TE Kelce. That's their entire offense.

I think the bigger challenge would be putting points up on the kind of tough, physical defense that tends to give our offense problems over the years. That said, KC on the road is a much different animal. Although I wouldn't feel comfortable (at all) about going to Arrowhead for a postseason game at the moment, they are certainly beatable here at Gillette.

They are the team that I'm expecting to play, and that was the same yesterday when I assumed that we'd be the #1 seed. The difference is that Pittsburgh got in and are going to their "home away from home" at Cincy. I would expect them to win on Saturday night and set up a rematch @Denver.
