Breer: Brady has a high ankle sprain

I agree. Ive watched it several times and as much as I'd like to blame Suh for hurting TB intentionally I don't think he meant it.

I think Suh just rolls around hoping he can injure someone when he's taken out of the play, I really do.

I thought about that. There is the possibility he saw Brady and just said f-it and slammed into him but he looked out of control...which maybe was by design. I dunna know....

Can we all at least agree on this?
Ndamukong Suh needs to be driven out to the center of a large desert and left.
More than any player I've ever watched, he finds ways to do maximum injury that have nothing to do with improving his results on the field.

Don't fool yourself into believing that part of the reason the Dolphins paid him that much money was for precisely that very reason. Suh is a nasty, dirty player who is capable of inflicting serious injury on other players and he nearly succeeded on Sunday in that Dolphins game

A mild high ankle sprain is far from ideal, but not the end of the world or anything. A severe one would be pretty much a season-ender for this Pats team. Purely based on the fact that Brady didn't come out of the game, I think it's a safe bet that it's a mild one. Still kinda pissed that they played Brady at all with the gameplan that they had, but oh well.

I thought the same thing until I saw how much he favored it when he was stepping down from the presser. It seems very obvious to me that it's really painful. We'll see what it is in two weeks.

Sprained ankles are painful. If you tape it up to play, it's a regular sprained ankle I think. I don't think taping would help a high ankle sprain.

To paraphrase this "acute sports injury and other clinics" site, Low ankle sprains are much more common than high ankle sprains [brilliant sportwriters to the contrary]. It is not suggested in any way that you stand on it, much less play pro football

(Active) Rest: In the early phase you’ll most likely be unable to walk on your sprained ankle. Our first aim is to provide you with some active rest from pain-provoking postures and movements. This means that you should stop doing the movement or activity that provokes the ankle pain. In most cases, you will need to be non-weight bear. You may need to be placed in an ankle walking boot, a supportive ankle brace or utilise crutches.

If you read the papers, it seem like 90% of sprained ankles are high ankle sprains. This doc says regular sprains are much more common, maybe 90% are not high ankle sprains.

I got so confused with your post that I became angry about it and started smashing some dishes in my kitchen.
Are you sure you weren't just celebrating a fantastic Greek dinner?

There is no reason why Brady should have been put back in the game after that injury happened if the training staff figured it could be a remotely significant injury. SMH

Funny part is after he got injured they started calling plays that put him in even more harms way with a horrible offensive line.

No one would make a quarterback stand on a high ankle sprain, much less play on one.

High ankle sprains are rare, but sportwriters like to use the term because it's dramatic.

He would have been carted off and been on crutches, not playing in the 3rd quarter.

Plus, the Patriots played great even with Brady injured, so how serious could it have been?

Just goes to show, all the people saying that Brady should sit out the final game to avoid risking injury were just being overly timid.

LOL, I didn't enjoy it either, no one in New England enjoyed it but I think the first playoff game will be very enjoyable.

i almost forgot
i did enjoy #39 TD
maybe that was also a part of the game plan

He was in a walking boot for a week in 07.
He's surely in a walking boot now too. I don't buy this crap that's being floated out there that it's not that bad.

Just an opinion based on how he looked in game and after the presser when he tried getting off the podium.

This looks worse to me than what he played with in the 2007 playoffs.

He's just happy to injure people for no good reason. I never really wish harm on a player, but I could make an exception with him.

Don't think there is a mild high ankle sprain.

Do requote an acute sports medicine site I linked in another post

High ankle sprains are much less common but are more disabling than your traditional lower ankle sprain.

Sportwriter drama turns a rare injury into every single sprained ankle.

A high ankle sprain means the two bones in your leg have become separated and you probably can't stand up.

I've got nothing on Brady's injury. I only logged onto say that I don't like Albert Breer. He seems to get a kick out giving bad news about the Patriots.

The funny thing about Breer is he loves to **** on Pats fans for the way we act, yet he does the same crap with his beloved Buckeyes...

You've never had a sprained ankle?

At this point for me, he's "DWB" equivalent on the football field. An OL could pick Suh up over his head, and hurl him at the QB, and I'd find a way to see it as Suh being dirty.

Breer popped wood sending that tweet.....

I smell ********. The fact that the first report came early from Schefter tells me the source was likely from the league. Who in the league would have knowledge of Brady's injury but Kraft or someone close enough to to him that Schefter would trust and go to press with "it's not that bad" when Brady could barely get off the podium after the game?

Maybe Bobby has some unsold tickets he's looking to unload and this story helps. What a joke this has become.

Well, why not go to a sports orthopedic or performance site to get that smell of ******** coming from the right direction?

I'll link as many gawd damn sites as it takes for people to realize you don't just rub dirt on a high ankle sprain, even a mild one, then go in and play a quarter of NFL football!

5-10
Percentage of all ankle sprains that are high ankle sprains

90-95% of ankle sprains are not high ankle sprains

For grade 1 and 2 sprains treated without surgery, it may take six weeks or longer until you are able to resume athletic activities. For grade 2 and 3 sprains treated with surgery, return to sports can take several months.

Six weeks or longer, for a mild high ankle sprain. Doesn't say you rub dirt on it and play a quarter of NFL football, does it?

Breer and the other buffoons are taking a severe disabling injury and pretending any sprained ankle is one. 5-10% of sprained ankles.

All About High Ankle Sprains

All this speculation brings us nowhere. To borrow a phrase, "it is what it is". Either its bad or it isn't. We just have to wait and see. Let's not drive ourselves crazy in the meantime.
