Breer: Brady has a high ankle sprain

If Brady himself says he'll be okay, I'll take him at his word.

Not going to worry, when there's two weeks to rest, along with athletic tape and cortisone shots.

In the first 1/2 they absolutely did. Then they made the decision to win with a sub-standard passing game and o-line.

OK so answer honestly....if they put in Jimmy G what would you have thought?
I would have thought they were trying to protect Brady.

Brady always says hes ok. Then its reported one some random day in February that he just had surgery to fix something.

Brady says he will be alright. Schefter said he's gonna be fine. Chao says the tape looks like he will be A-OK. But freakin' Bert Breer says "HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN GUISE UH OH" and everyone panics? Breer? Really?

Brady will almost certainly be wearing a walking boot at some point, if he's not already. Why wouldn't they have him wear one?
Not sure I am not a doctor. I would believe if it is a mild sprain. Then wrap it, get some rest, ice etc for a few days. Then see what you can tolerate. Brady did not leave the podium with one on so that was a good sign. Precautionary I am fine with the boot. But he is going to need to practice if he is to be ready. If he has it on after mid week. Then let the **** show start. Until then I am going to go scratch my nails on a chalkboard

Could've been worse.. I flipped my **** when he was bent backwards

Agreed - that was horrific looking. I didn't even think of the ankle. It looked more unnatural than some of the scenes from Ash vs. Evil Dead! I wouldn't be surprised if that caused the rumored rib bruising. I think I stopped breathing when he was on the ground, waiting for him to move.

Not sure how that affects his status now.

If he needs surgery in the offseason, he needs surgery in the offseason. He's still going to play though.

If the offensive line is as bad as its been, Brady's mobility will be a moot point anyway.

My first reaction to this was to literally laugh. There's nothing else to say. This is the capper, the piece de resistance, of an otherworldly awful season for injuries. It really couldn't have ended any other way. It's a Greek tragedy in sports form.

I like to think of it as just a backstory for what will be the greatest playoff ru in sports history.

All while playing in a game where they just wanted to avoid injury and put forward a half ass game plan.

Wow. This is infuriating.

belichick ****ed all of this up. brady had no business playing to begin with.

at least i have my excuses if we flame out. wonder if the media will mention this injury like they did with mannings mysterious " thigh injury " last season. probably not..

Well this injury will definitely reduce the number of plays we could have called where Brady scrambles 15 yards for a TD

Seriously though, a high ankle sprain isn't a great injury for a QB to have because it will definitely affect his throwing mechanics a bit, but with 2 weeks rest and lots of athletic tape on that sucker, I'm confident he can still perform the way he needs to. I'm still way more concerned about the offensive line being a total liability and the much needed return of star players on the offensive and defensive side of the ball

I can candidly say, I did not enjoy the game on Sunday. Was that the question?
LOL, I didn't enjoy it either, no one in New England enjoyed it but I think the first playoff game will be very enjoyable.

There is no reason why Brady should have been put back in the game after that injury happened if the training staff figured it could be a remotely significant injury. SMH

Funny part is after he got injured they started calling plays that put him in even more harms way with a horrible offensive line.

That's the most baffling part about this to me. They started going shotgun 5 wide every single play AFTER the injury. What the hell?

COuld have been A LOT worse

I have to think that standing in shotgun formation is the better option, since he doesn't have to do the footwork to drop back. Less movement, less stress on the injury.

Didn't really matter, did it? The pocket kept collapsing on him immideately. Shot gun didn't protect him...****ing puke worthy effort by the "big boys" up front.

Should have just sent Garropolo out there, fearlessly slinging the ball...he's young he can take the hits. ;)
