Good job Denver !

I hope TB12 and the Pats can go in there and kick Peyton's butt one final time 3 weeks from now.
Nor sure these Pats can win divisional round. We may get smoked.

If only there were an example in the BB/Brady era where we lost a game to a far inferior Miami team, costing us homefield advantage, where later that year we went on the road to a team that beat us earlier in the year and ended up winning the Super Bowl. But that would be crazy.
Much different team back then. Fact is unless a lot changes we won't be in AFCCG.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Why you mad at Denver? They're not really the reason they're the top seed. NE had like four opportunities: two shouldn't have losses and two opportunities to win games that would have secured it. That's not Denver's fault at all.

Yeah, they only lost to Oakland and Pittsburgh to give us HFA back TWICE. Too bad a science experiment was more important than securing the #1 seed. That was a really cute first half today against the Dolphins.

If I was a reporter I would ask BB this. You say all the time that the NFL is a hard league to win in. Why then, if it's so hard, do you drop kick in a game where it was pointless? You are up 14-0 in a league that's hard to win in.

As for today, it was mind boggling. BB said balance. What balance? 25-5 isn't "balance". I truly hope he knows what he is doing.

A lot changes, such as:

- Adding a pro bowl RT
- Adding a pro bowl, perennial 100+ catch WR
- Adding a pro bowl, ~15 sack DE
- Giving a reliable WR, a pro-bowl LB, and a pro-bowl FS two free weeks to get 100% healthy.

Plenty is going to change. No guarantees of anything of course, but let's not pretend like today was indicative of our personnel or gameplan for a playoff game in two weeks.

The team you are referring to is considered one of the best teams to ever play in a single season.

Just trying to deflect blame onto something else

No doubt. But this team prior to injuries was undefeated and probably has the best defense since that 04 team. And that team didn't have two weapons as reliable as Edelman or as dominant as Gronk. Not saying in any way that this team is better (or that they have just as good a chance of pulling off what the 04 team did), but this is still, when everyone is back, a VERY good team. I have no doubt that they CAN beat Denver in Denver if they have to.

Funny how last year Denver wanted nothing to do with coming back to Foxboro for the AFCCG.

This year, the tables are turned.

So if PIT loses we get Cincy yes? And if KC wins DEN gets them? I think KC would be good to upset Devner being a division rival and all....

As the #2 seed we get the highest remaining seed after the first round.

In the first round 3 plays 6 and 4 plays 5.

If 3 wins, they play us and DEN plays the winner of 4/5. If 6 wins they play DEN and we play the 4/5 winner.

Thus it is impossible for us to play 6 in the divisional and it is impossible for DEN to play 3 in the divisional.

I dunno, I'm likely guilty of some sort of bias here, but it just constantly feels like only ever get the other team's best. Fitzpatrick suddenly becomes Mr. Never-Throw-An-Int when he plays us. I swear we only recovered like half of the fumbles we caused this year.

Watching that Chargers game and seeing how the Chargers gave Denver the ball and then let Anderson jog in it just felt frustrating. Knowing that injuries are the biggest reason that we lose 4 games this year doesn't make it any easier and yet we were in all of those games right up until the end.

Looking forward to having all of our best defenders on the field and reasonably healthy for the first time in a billion years.

Looking forward to LaFell and Martin being our #4 and #5 options in the receiving game (after Gronk, Edelman, Amendola and you could even argue White) instead of #1 and #2.

The only game that matters is the next one. Denver means ZERO right now. Denver will most likely face the team NO ONE wants to face in the post season, the Steelers.I would rather face KC at home than the Steelers. Pats need to win the next game in front of them. We fans have no idea who THAT is, so stop the bleating and whining about Denver. Grease your little beaks up for the winner of the KC/Houston game...if you haven't jumped ship already.

You're another member of the "NE lost to PHI because of that kick" truthers?

Anyhow, under Pentothal BB would probably answer that film study showed a gap in the kickoff coverage that they felt they could take advantage of, that if the kick had been executed properly it would have fallen in the gap, that it was worth gambling 21 yards for the extra possession, that if the NE defense didn't choke on 3rd-and-10+ on that drive no one would be talking about it, and that the blocked punt and the punt return TD had nothing to do with it, either.

i am looking forward to that game. At least we get 2 weeks off at this point.

In the preseason, when we all made our predictions, I, Joker the rotten homer everyone hates, predicted 10-6, hopefully 11-5 given the schedule. That was based on reasonable health throughout the season, especially Brady. Today's game sucked to watch. I HATE the Dolphins. 12-4 however, EXCEEDED my homer hopes. Not good enough for the whiny CL College of "Knowers" though. The Pats have to win every game and when they lose ALWAYS go back to that certain loss (Philly e.g.) to prove the sky is falling...to make YOURSELF somehow feel superior.

What else can this insanity be on this board? If you are a Pats fan, ENJOY every single chance you get at the postseason. Half this board acts like they are ENTITLED to get everything THEY want. Well, show up at the playoff game at Patriots place and I'll buy every single mutt that wants to jump ship after today a Jets hat, or a Denver hat, or a frigging Peyton poster.

this is setting up perfect for us

to be the best, you have to beat the best

nothing would be more satisfying than defeating the 5 time mvp and all time most prolific passer on his own field en route to another SB win

Go patriots!!!!.......lets get'em boys
