For a usually very insightful person you act very uncharacteristically dense here.

He is not playing scared but simply plays the percentages and is keenly aware of shortcomings. Instead of forcing plays and risk injury with personnel that cant do it we go conservative and try to keep it close.
What? He had the ball with tom Brady and 2 minutes and times outs in close games (trailing both times??) before half and ran out the clock. He kicked off in ot. He threw 5 passes in the first half of this game.

Today is all that matters. this game negates all those lucky games when we were healthy at the right time of year or played well at the right time of year [since it's A OK to stink up the joint with a healthy team and Darrel Revis against KC].

There is NO WAY this team relaxes, has a great week of practice and starts firing on all cylinders in the playoffs.

It's not like Brady has played well in the playoffs before, or that Edelman, Amendola, LaFell and Gronk have made clutch plays. The law of averages is obviously against them!

Let's overlook the next playoff game and look to the draft where we have no pick to resurrect this disaster!

Needless to say that BillB needs to get that OL fixed.

OL in this game horrible. Brady got his ankle rolled over and had no time to throw..

DL keeps getting burned on RBs (this game, Jets game) running on the outside...

He didn't run that well he had 35 yards on 14 carries a 2.5 average. He can get the ball in from the goal line and he can pickup a short yard but he is clearly not a feature back anymore.

Yeah I disagree with this. That dude runs hard. We'll see what he does in the playoffs with a rested O line but man he hits the hole hard.

there is nothing you can do. the solder injury has caused a trickle down effect where you have stork playing tackle. the only time the pats seemed to have decent protection is when waddle was in the game last week vs the jets.

Given the context I dont see anything wrong with any of those decisions. Again you can philosophically disagree with it but almost all of those decisions make sense.

When you have Fleming protecting Brady's blindside and you've already secured a playoff spot and a first round bye I think it is smart to limit the potential risk of injury to Brady, Gronkowski and others.
HFA was on the line.
What happened to next man up and do your job.
Why not sit Brady? There is no reasonable defense to the last month of bb decisions. Look at the result. We gave away HFA and are limping into the playoffs playing by far the worst football this team has played in years is not the entire be era.

Yea, even when Vollmer was in they weren't playing well on the line. But earlier in the year they were able to cover up those issues with Edelman and Lewis. With Edelman back hopefully that helps out enough to make the o-line only have to block well for half the pass plays instead of all of em

More JE11 and more White in the divisionals.

How does it make sense to not try to score with 2 minutes in the half and timeouts?
How does it make sense to refuse to throw the football in the first half of a key game?

I think it is ok to be critical of this team, anyone who does that is allowed.

I just don't think we are as bad a team as we showed on the field today.

We will have a bye, we will have a home game and get on the road with a relatively healthy squad.

Yes NE played a bad game but they are a 12-4 team.

I mean the facts are the facts though, that offensive line is and has always been key to our success.

Gives Brady time, wears our their D, gives our D lots of rest. It is a pivotal part of this team and I hope the coaching staff and the break will recharge this group for this years playoffs push...

I don't have any problem with the Patriots establishing the run.... but 11 runs straight??????
They were getting SJax carries and protecting Brady.

They did not play to win this game. That much is clear.

It would be nice if they could flip a switch and become a good team while sitting around for 2 weeks.

They're probably going to practice a little, don't you think? You know, practice with their full complement of receivers for the first time in months?

02 team lost 4 in a row at one point..
None of those were against teams with losing records. Those were in October. These are in December and January. The offense was 1000 times better in those 2002 games.
You realize we pretty much had one play of offense today right? Otherwise the pathetic dolphins held us to 3.

Bill's presser, peaches and cream! Hilarious.

A lot of things we can be critical of this team about. No question.

I just think, with resting some guys, and getting another week off and majority of those guys back we should be fine.

If we start the AFC divisional with the offensive gameplan we started with today. I'll be rip sh!t.

We haven't played to win in a month. Isn't THAT the crux of the problem?
If Bill brooch ice feels he can't play to win against Miami or the jets and had to run a high school offense what is going to happen against a good team in the playoffs?

It has been discussed to death. We lost Vollmer, the OL clearly struggled protecting Brady and we were guaranteed the ball after halftime. In the opinion of the coaching staff the chance to give the jets another shot at a FG was higher than driving 50+ yards.

Disagree with it all you want but dont say that it makes no sense.

You are way too soft. BB should be fired! When's the draft? Trade Brady for those picks he lost us while you can Bob!!!

Worst team since Rod Rust went 1-15. Josh sucks, the secondary sucks, Patricia sucks.

This team is done. Practice won't cut it. It's over.

Brady is finished. He looks like Peyton on Dramamine with a Jack chaser. Having Edelman and Gronk and a healthy OL won't make any difference. They all suck.

The past is always prologue. Always. /s
