Sounds like a contract loophole if you ask me. Caserio isn't going to go to Indy in any case. He can't be that stupid.

That's how it works in the NFL. If you're a coordinator or an assistant GM, and are offered a better position, you can get out of your contract without penalty.

That said, I can't imagine Caserio or McDaniels want anything to do with working for Jim Irsay. And it's not as if there's a ton of actual talent on that roster. A few pieces here or there, but nothing resembling depth.

What I meant was, Caserio is like the GM even if he doesn't have final say or title to his name.

I don't know how this works in practice, but I don't think teams stand in the way of an Assistant Coach or a member of its management who has an opportunity elsewhere that he considers better.

Mcdaniels shouldnt go anywhere where he is not the first choice.
