Semi-OT: Tom Coughlin expected to resign Monday

They have already surpassed the bills of the 90s.

Even though a good many of us watched it happen, with each passing year two things increase for me.

1. To make it to 4 straight Super Bowls is an incredible accomplishment. Dedication, great roster management, great team, great coaching, etc. Admirable in every way.

2. How the hell do you lose 4 straight Super Bowls? Seriously. Clearly the Giants game was a bang-bang affair. It happens. But 3 straight blowouts?

It was sheer hell being a Pats fan during that era but if the Pats lost 4 straight Super Bowls I might have just pulled a point of no return bender.

At the end of the day those Bills teams were not tough enough and the NFC was so far ahead of the AFC talent wise it wasn't even funny.

Ya'll are giving the Brits too much credit for that victory. We, The Canadians, won that war.

Once again they have not.
The Buffalo Bills stand alone as the franchise to go to four (4) SBs in a row and lose all four. All 4 in a row!
Once again as I said, the SeaBirds are in the best position to equal or tie the Bills.
Not one other team has even come close to this record accomplishment.

The Giants are making a huge mistake. They should do everything they can to keep Coughlin. What they need is better players not a better coach.

Maybe they could have Coughlin take a step back in the draft and FA process to a degree and bring in someone different there but don't have someone like him stop being your coach if you can prevent it.

YOU BURNED DOWN OUR WHITE HOUSE!

NEVER FORGET!!
Man The Wall!

Imposter! Everyone knows Canadians don't say y'all!

I think the argument can be made that it's time for Coughlin to go. However, they need to consider keeping the OC in place if at all possible. They changed OCs a few years ago and Eli is really slow to pick up a new scheme.

You lost me. Even if the Seahawks lose the next 3 Super Bowls, they have a super bowl title, which the bills do not.

But they're first in line to equal losing 4 SBs in a row

yes, i get that you are trying to be cute here. but let's say the following scenario happens to seattle:

2013 - seahawks win SB

2014 - seahawks lose SB

2015 - seattle loses SB

2016 - seattle loses SB

2017 - seattle loses SB

This is better than the bills losing 4 in a row because seattle at least has a super bowl title. so my point was by virtue of their super bowl they have already surpassed buffalo regardless of what happens the next few seasons. Seattle and buffalo can never be equal.

I wouldn't be upset if we hired him as a part time Ernie Adams like guy...

Maybe our new GM if Bill jumps ship to the NY Football Giants, and McDaniels takes over as new Patriots
's coach.:)

Stephen Jones claimed that they aren't changing any coaches at all in an interview yesterday.

As far as Coughlin goes--this year makes it 6/7 years where they've failed to make the postseason, so it's probably time to make a change.

Stephen will make sure Jerrah has too much whiskey to get out of bed.

Doesn't it seem like Couglin had some information on the Pats that was obtained illegally?

Mcdaniels to Giants makes alot of sense but thinking either Panther coordinator could be the pick ad well.

I think Jason Garrett is owed a ton of money still on his contract (like $20 millionish). No way Jerry Jones eats that kind of money.

+ he is Jerrahs biggest pet project ever

Having said that, I don't see Garrett being a HC outside of a drunken delusion at Valley Ranch HQ...don't hate him...if a football fool pays you take it

Maybe Coughlin doesn't want to come back? Maybe he's 69 years old and just wants to retire?

I applaud coughlin for going out on his terms.

BTW, am I the only one here who'd love to see Coughlin show up completely blotto to his press conference, and then just cut loose? As tight as he's wound, I think him cutting loose like that would be worthy of a prime time special.
