Dola not playing was the main reason Pats went 1 of 8 in 3rd down conversions. Can't score if you can't move the chains. Dola has been great since JE went down and Pats need him back healthy. I'm glad he stayed back in NE getting healthy.

Bart Scott? Holy...man you aren't nearly as douchey on the internet as you are in person. That's like backwards from the normal person.

Hush up newbie, the men are talking football here.

The game was totally weird. I have several questions and need answers.

3. With a good punt return and at least one timeout left we could have atleast tried to get a 50 yard FG with the best kicker in the game.

Totally with you on that. I couldn't understand that decision at all. Maybe with the OL in bad shape they were worried about a strip-sack.

I'm just kidding, you're a good poster here.

No. Slater clearly said they wanted to kick off.. I think he was concentrating too much on direction, and didn't know the rule..

Once you verbally proclaim your intent there is no givebacksees..

Wrong. You really need to work on your listening skills because even Schefter has it broken down:

The exchange between Blakeman, Slater: | New England Patriots Forums - PatsFans.com Patriots Fan Messageboard

"We want to kick off, that way"

Would you care to try again?

Nope.
But they need a lot of help.

What do you mean by "they need a lot of help?"

They have to beat Cleveland, while Rex Ryan and his motivated Bills would need to beat the NYJ at home in Buffalo.

======================================

Maybe, maybe not, you just never know till they play the game. That's what makes this all so fun.
I agree, that's why we play the game, but it's not like you guys obliterated the Pats with 2 starting WRs and 2 starting safties out and 2nd-3rd string O line protecting Brady.

Anyone else not super upset about the loss? I was half expecting it anyways. Vollmer going down was killer. People need to stop putting the loss on the coin toss "mix-up."

I did not, however, appreciate the lack of aggressive play calling towards the end of both halves. Is it so hard to believe that the #1 QB with the #1 TE could not get into FG range for the #1 kicker?

Look, guys, just imagine for a minute if you will - Edelman and Amendola both healthy and playing at the same time! And Martin is the THIRD WR instead of the primary WR!

What about LaFell?

Quantum - You can disagree all you want, but it doesn't change reality. Blakeman should have gotten clarification from Slater since he said "we want to kick that way". That's two choices.. And since you can't make two choices, you have to get clarification.. Period..

I wanna see it against miami. Lafell's dead to me. Dude has turned into a jag

Since people were asking about PIT...

If NYJ and PIT tie at 10-6, PIT in on common opponents.
If PIT and DEN tie at 10-6, PIT in on head-to-head.
If PIT and KC tie at 10-6, KC in on head-to-head.
If NYJ-PIT-DEN tie at 10-6, PIT in because DEN is knocked out on conference record, then remaining 2-way tiebreaker gives it to PIT on common opponents.
If NYJ-PIT-KC, KC in on conference record.

Nope. Once he says "kick" that makes the rest of it moot. Same thing happened with Abner Haynes "We'll kick to the clock" in the 1962 AFL Championship.

Excuses are for losers. The Jets were the better team today, maybe they won't be next week, maybe they weren't last week.

You keep telling yourself that, Quantum. Won't mean your correct..

Sorry, but the Official is supposed to confirm, not make the decision for them..
