NFL Week 16 Playoff Picture and Scenarios

While NFL Week 15 did not do much to the playoff picture other than end the misery for a handful of teams by officially eliminating them from post-season play, it did bring genuine contenders one step closer to clinching scenarios in Week 16. Eighteen teams still have at least a mathematical chance at a playoff spot with two weeks to go; that is surely something that Roger Goodell’s parity-driven Park Avenue league office that strives for participation banners is surely proud of.

For all intents and purposes there are four remaining playoff races: (a) between Cincinnati and Denver for a bye; (b) between Kansas City an Pittsburgh for the number five seed (and the right to play the sorry-ass AFC South champion); (c) between Green Bay and Minnesota for the NFC North and number three seed; and (d) between Washington and Philadelphia for the NFC East title and the right to lose at home to Seattle.

In one scenario, I'm in the rooting for the Jaguars winning the AFC Sourh bandwagon. Anyone else want to see this for the Hell of it?

Or read it. I looked, scrolled once, and moved on. I'm sure it's a great graphic for someone with a couple of days to figure it out. Me I'll just see how things stand after tomorrow's games.

The answer to my own question: Harold's machine in "Person of Interest."

Outside of the Pats game tomorrow (natch), are there any Sunday games that have any real direct import. I have the holiday blues and tomorrow may not shake them. The menu looks like the drabbest of the whole year.

I know about the Monday nite game, but that seems far away right now.

And I appreciate it greatly. Unfortunately, the Pats' situation is so clear and simple there isn't much use for it for us. But if you are a fan of a half dozen teams in both conferences, its pretty nice.

Wow, talk about detailed. Super informative if you want to know every teams' scenarios.

I love the intersection of absurd enthusiasm and creativity.
