It would be insane to give $9 million over three years to a completely unknown, unproven player.
Thats my point the OP wbo said we missed out, has to understand if we didnt take a real gamble and make him rich we had no chance to his hometown.
If we would of made that move we however would of looked like geniuses to invest in a unknown commodity.

He quit on his team with the intention of leaving and transferring to USC where he was once offered a full ride Scholarship. USC was the school of his dreams but Oregon and its boosters promised him things and never made good on those promises. I don't blame him for wanting to get away from Chip the control freak, and going to USC which is a much much better school to begin with.

This is so wrong bra. I am not going to get into it. But this is fairy tail stuff. I am going to PM you.

The other thing is that Chip's team had a real need at safety yet he dumped Patrick Chung, who also played for him in college. And the Pats found a way to use him well.

Yeah, but N.E. didn't find a way for Chung to work the first time around, and he's not really playing any sort of true safety anymore, in his second time as a Patriot. Chung's basically a light LB in the current scheme. Chung failed as a true S in both N.E. and Philly.

I hate to say he failed. I think a "light LB" is sort of a new position in football.

Look at Deone Bucannon for instance. I loved him as a safety prospect last year, and I guess the Cardinals did too, they drafted him with the 27th pick. However he has played nothing but ILB over the past two seasons.

Hope he works out, but let's remember that before we snatched this guy off the wire Cincinnati released him and 30 teams with the best scouts money can buy all said "No thanks."

Humble
Team Player
"Sometime's you gotta bend, but not break"

Seem's fairly well spoken & intelligent. (opposite of Josh Norman)

Seems like an idea Patriot.
Again, I really like the signing.

Ideal, except for the minor matter of a domestic dispute charge. But they must have fully vetted to get past Kraft.

Danny Woodhead says Hi

Hopefully it means Edelman is further along than we might have hoped. It could also just mean that Hankerson hasn't come close to "getting" the system.

This seems strange on the surface, but I guess there is a reason all of the other teams passed on him.

So are the Pats needing his roster spot to activate someone?

This is definitely a chicken salad cornerback rotation. Four undrafted players!

Troy Hill was credited with 18 pass break-ups in 2014 - the most of all players in the 2015 draft. He was undrafted because he is small, slight, and lacks speed.

Good to build depth at corner.

I would hope so. It doesn't make sense. I thought they would keep him and see if he grasps the playbook. Lafell has to step up as a deep option.

More likely Harper gets called up this afternoon. Brady mainly working with spare parts Sunday. Better be a big day for the RBs, who are now White, Iosefa, Bolden and Jackson.

Wes Welker is a better example, but statistically Hill has a better chance of never playing a down for us than having a successful career here.

We gave up a 2nd rounder for Wes Welker. Which we still won out on because he turned out to be worth a 1st but it was a much slimmer margin.

Miami got him after he was cut by San Diego, who signed him as an UDFA. Just saying that Hill is a low risk signing but expectations should be tempered.
